The reason is likely that no one who only made it to week 7 has ever been picked to be the next bachelor/bachelorette. The show goes on after they leave and the audience feels closer to the women who make it to 2,3, or 4

Yes. That is the actual problem. They need to get deeper in the show and have more storylines so that they can be the next chooser.

Is there a reason people make tv shows other than ratings? Isn’t the whole point to entertain people? I’m so confused. If they get good ratings it means they are doing a good job entertaining people, it SHOULD be the deciding factor in everything.
