The Caliber is related to the Neon only in that they were both Chrysler Corporation products.  And of the two, the Neon was a vastly superior product.

The biggest problems these had was with the head gaskets in the early models. And that was fixed by 1997 or 1998 when they specified MLS gaskets as a fix. And apparently some early ignition coils were problematic, but easy/cheap to fix.

The Caliber wasn’t even remotely related to the Neon. It was a ground up all new design, based upon the final generation Mitsubishi Lancer.

I agree. I could forgive cost-cutting like this on a lower priced vehicle under another GM brand, but not on a “standard of the world” Cadillac.

The internet is full of references to the “Catera Touring Sedan” and “Cadillac Touring” acronyms, as if they should be common knowledge, but y’know what- I can’t seem to find anything coming directly from Cadillac or GM to confirm either of them now. Is there any chance that the “CT6” standing for “Cadillac Touring”…

I still don’t understand how there’s a forward-facing third row in the Model Y. Mind you is just a rough mockup, but unless it’s a rumble seat, I just can’t see how it works!
