Pontiac had ZERO future as a GM brand. Zero. Dealers kept clamoring for G3's, G5's, Vibes, and Torrents. Enthusiasts kept clamoring for Solstices and G8s. None of them sold well at all. The only Pontiac that did was the G6. Mainly to rental fleets. The coupe and convertible versions flopped.

My Grandfather had Buicks, back before WW2. My Father started driving his father’s hand me down Buicks in the early 50's (I think the first one was a ‘53). Since then, Dad has always had a Buick. Roadmasters, Wildcats, a Regal, several LeSabres and most recently, LaCrosses. Leased. A new one every 30 moths or so.

The LaCrosse is a damn good looking vehicle, and I’m not ashamed to say that I want one, in a big bad way.

which enthusiasts want, at least theoretically, resulting in the Pontiac G8** all over again.

And they won the World Rally Championship with it.

I live up by there...

Oregon fucking kicks ass. Go there if you can - check your preconceptions at the door, and just enjoy it.

“Funny thing how people have such a short memory. it was only a couple of years ago that fuel prices were relatively high,”

That’s like my aunt who thought my 300ZX was essentially the same as her Ford Escort. Sure, if you mean they were both red and had 4 wheels, very similar.

To her credit, they did handle quite well. I’m guilty of having owned a Stratus.

Has a slight Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust vibe to it. needs a Pope’s head box on top.

Nice back pedaling......

2nd gen-

Yep, nobody bought the 1st gen CTS, which is why were on generation 3 of it.....

Yeah I don’t get the whole “the ATS and CTS will merge and there will be a smaller model” So, you’re replacing the ATS and CTS separately then

I love how a car with power everything, color nav, heated and cooled what not and etc etc etc is a “stripper”, like if we were talking about a Maverick or something........last time I checked a base CTS is still a very nice place to spend time in, its not the Lubyanka.........

Rather than the characterless sedans and cars they’re modelled on? You can make a couple of good arguments against crossovers. This...isn’t one of them.

Then make people not buy crossovers then.
