My experience/opinion on meringue is similar to Marnie’s. I’ve never really been able to get into the texture of it. I’ve kind of gotten to a point where for me, meringue is just kind of ‘there’ and I’m more than willing to put up with it if there’s a really good pie (especially lemon) underneath.

I’m curious as to whether anyone at Disney saw what TROS was going to be, couldn’t stop it, but made some notes to make sure that it at least got fixed in the novelization.

(it’s unclear why double-sleeving isn’t allowed, you’d think egotistical Meths would be dying to have multiple versions of themselves running around)

Same. For a long time, I basically dismissively nicknamed any movie character he played as some sort of Van Wilder variant, like “Van Wilder, Waiter” or “Van Wilder, Vampire Hunter.” And then he was cast as Deadpool, and I was like “Well, crap. Not a fan of the guy, but I can’t imagine anyone else doing the character

I don’t know if it’s because McD’s added the breakfast burrito to their menu at a very impressionable time in my childhood or what, but those picante sauce packets are one of my favorite things ever.

Part of the issue is that, like Blockbuster before it, it’s pushed really hard to dominate the market and then once 95% of the competition is gone, start really hammering home on the worst aspects of the business because they expect the customers to just sit back and take it and not leap at the first viable

I used to do Blue Apron, but switched to Hello Fresh a couple years ago. This was back when Blue Apron gave you six recipes to pick from, and you were limited on combinations, which is part of why I switched. Also, I switched because I realized one day that for the previous couple of months, literally every box had at

To some degree it’s always been a part of the character, even going back to the old series. The wittier dialogue of the new series makes it a little more obvious, but every Doctor has had one or more distinct social blind spots.

And here I was thinking it was because it was pretentious as hell.

On the other hand, if it is her, it may explain how Leia had a memory of her mother.

While obviously not a nationwide thing, I remember a local Subway did a special Valentine’s Day promotion where the store was reservations-only, with candles on the tables and a special deal on a heart-shaped sandwich you were meant to share with someone. (Like, it wasn’t on special heart-shaped bread, but it was

Maybe it’s just the places around here, but in my personal experience the line cooks know as much about what is and isn’t working as the owner does, if not moreso.

I used to work at a beer distributor, both in the office and on the delivery route. The bars with staying power were the ones where the owners (often also one of the bartenders, in my area) actually paid for their own drinks. The ones where the owners just take whatever beers they want without putting money in the

I love the show and it’s batshittery, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes I do wonder what the series’ rules are about timeline disruptions. There’ve been more than a few historical figures (Jeanie comes to mind, as does that Tokugawa shogun back in season 1) who’ve died before their times because of the Legends’

I’m guessing the ‘parking lot’ thing is using buildings in mall parking lots that used to be banks or tanning salons or whatever.

I’m not gonna deny, while I’ve peeked at it from the outside from time to time, I haven’t actually watched any of the show since season 4 because “Ruthie” just hurt too much. Not even clips. That one just crushed me.

While it wasn’t a ‘don’t want it any more’ sort of situation, this brings to mind something that happened last year. I was at a gathering with some friends while on a trip, and we went to a local restaurant for breakfast. But because of an obnoxious flight schedule, I was going to have to leave first and there was a

For comparison’s sake, I live in a relatively small college town. We’ve got three standalone locations, and four located within other businesses (Target, a hospital, a hotel lobby, and a grocery store). Interestingly enough, none are located downtown.

I totally get the ‘imprecise fruit/veggie size’ thing. The first time a recipe called for a ‘medium’ onion and I’m looking at the huge-ass onions (the only size they carry) in my local grocery store thinking “well, what now,” it drove me nuts. (I figured out quickly that half of one of those onions was enough for the

Having just recently discovered the wonders of the salted lemon Kit Kats, I’m more than ready to try an American attempt. My roommate and I, on a recent weekend trip, found a store with a wide variety of Japanese Kit Kats, and the salted lemon was our favorite of the bunch. (We bought so many Japanese Kit Kats before
