i think the difference is samberg also had to juggle a hot new career while working on snl. kenan seems to be quite happy with snl being the primary gig, and occasionally dipping his toes in a sitcom or something.

This is exactly right. She is literally told by Debra Jo Rupp’s character that they would rather die than suffer under her reign. She has another mother beg her for just a few minutes with her own child.

She knows at the end and she does let Vision go. I think people have confused the next stage of grief with

Let’s no do the disservice to ourselves of confusing the angry and vocal minority of weirdo internet yellers with the majority of anything. My brother fell into that shit hard and as I recall kept yelling about how it was Wanda character assassination for like a year. Apparently that show that was her supervillain

It just boils down to what do I expect/want out of these movies. I mean, “just fine” is really a good level of expectation from an entertainment experience. I’ve also found most of the TV (except Secret Invasion) to be fun and a decent way to spend 45 min a week.

I think we also retroactively look at the pre-Endgame

I’ll believe her when I (don’t) see her.  I feel like very few celebrities who announce they’re quitting actually follow through.  The ones who quit just... you know, quit and fade away.

Ah... it burns! The whining about character development.

Once again, for those in the back:

I wish my blips made $955 million dollars.

As a movie I didn’t mind it, and it REALLY carried the feel of old-school Doctor Strange comics. I think it’s big problem was that it kind of tossed out all the character development from Wandavision. My kids, who didn’t watch the show, LOVED it.

And it made 955 million bucks, which is damn good.  So I’m just not sure why we’re calling it a bad blip, beyond what seems to be a vague editorial edict to consistently insinuate that the MCU is failing, so much so that its current failure is also retroactively applying to two years ago.

What blip? That movie fucking rocked. Fuck off.

Deathstalker 2 being tongue in cheek is an understatement. After a short pre-credits scene, it literally starts with one of the villains yelling at her minions:

No worries, we’re saying the same thing.  Happy 4th!

But really, who could have expected the people who appropriated something as innocuous at the “OK” hand gesture as a symbol of hate would do the same for “White Boy Summer?” How could anyone have seen that coming?

He pretty much had to be in on the joke since he’s dressed like a goddam Nazi for most of it. The others were in a straight-up war movie.

his laugh certainly freaks me out

I had it in my head that the original Beverly Hills Cop was the movie me and my friends went wild over and watched again and again as (very, very young) kids, but - after watching it a few weeks back - realised it was the sequel we all had recorded on VHS and watched every other weekend.

The AV Club was not put on this Earth to “get it”.

Despicable Me 3 is one of the highest grossing animated films ever. Illumination understands that they don’t need to worry about quality or story or critics or RT Scores (58%!) to make money from dumb schlubs and their mouth-breathing spawn. No one asked for your jokes - these parents just need 100 minutes of A/C and

I’m just so glad Last Action Hero is on here.

Jamie Lee Curtis as Stannis is some perfect casting. Kevin Hart as Roland on the other hand ...
