Eh, we told all of you to stop doing slideshows but you’re not listening either.
Eh, we told all of you to stop doing slideshows but you’re not listening either.
This is 100% driven by a request a week before from the CEO of Delta Airlines:
Enough with the damned slideshows, especially when there’s 40 of them to go through. Just list the stupid things and make it easy for your readers.
I’ve got you beat - I used to have an old one volume encyclopedia of my dad’s that mentioned Germany’s brand spanking new chancellor, Adolph Hitler. I’m thinking it was published in 1934 or thereabouts?
There’s your problem - you put it on a high shelf, instead of the bottom to stabilize it. Especially true if you have one of those extra-tall narrow bookshelves.
I can live with dishes in the sink. What I CAN’T STAND are floors that have like, a TON of crumbs and whatnot all over the floor, as well as sticky floors! PLEASE VACUUM (or SWEEP if you don’t own a vacuum!) and at least spot clean the sticky if there’s no time to mop!
Also been programming since 1981, professionally since 1995. I guess my laptop with 64GB of RAM (that happens to be close to 4 years old) is really obscene?
It’s easier once one recognizes that web browsers nowadays are not simple article retrieval tools anymore, but specialized virtual machines that run sandboxed applications on-demand.
You’ve been programming for almost as long as I’ve been alive and the 8 GB requirement isn’t so surprising to me. We have to remember that system memory requirements aren’t just what a particular program requires but also all the OS and potential multi-tasking overhead.
This. Take a sledgehammer to it and call it performance art.
I disagree. As children we’re all taught there are consequences for our behavior, but the richer you get, the less that is the case. You can act however you want and face almost no consequences.
It's not really what I would call a unique idea.
Because only illegal things are newsworthy? WTF
They didn’t tweet about it. This is investigative reporting. And its valuable. With reporting like this, potential employees can make informed decisions about a company they might work for.
To think, until now I only avoided Razer products because they are overpriced glossy garbage. Now I have Reason #2!
Well, he’s not American, he’s Singaporean, and his crap attitude is typical of the management culture in the tech industry there more broadly. Managers at Creative are also famous for being assholes in precisely the same way. I legitimately wouldn’t be surprised if he has them on his resume- Creative has a horrid…
I find the whole basic idea that Razer would be in the ‘Most Innovative Companies’ on a Fast Company scale strange. The company’s run like the 1800s, and what have they actually ‘innovated’ recently other than even stupider lighting, their dumb digital currency, and PewDiePie branded headphones (It’s real, I shit you…
Just so you know, if you lose data on an SD card, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a software bug. There are some suspiciously cheap SD cards with huge capacity. They’re actually very small SD cards that only claim to be larger. These will automatically overwrite old data in order to write more.
FAT32 isn’t affected. just exFAT.
