Watched a little film called Citizen Kane for the first time. It's pretty good, but jerks on the internet totally spoiled the ending for me. Would you believe that? I don't actually love the way the exposition is formatted at the beginning and I thought it doesn't really do all that much with how most of it is

I actually dig Ground Zeroes so far, after hating Guns of the Patriots quite a bit. I still wouldn't say it's a great game — it's often mechincally vague where I would have preferred it to be snappier and unambiguous — but I'm having a lot of fun regardless. The tension it creates is great and 'marking' enemies

Nah, if anyone needs to apologize it's me. I never really developed a clear enough vision, let alone communicate it. I'm sorry.

I mostly want easy access to the credits. Mobygames isn't always reliable and I don't want to boot up games and hope they have a staff roll option in the main menu whenever I want to check if the scenario writer for 3D Dot Game Heroes also worked on Bravely Default or whatever.

Oh, good point. I didn't really notice because I guess the game didn't make me feel like exploring too much, but that would be frustrating. I suppose while we're burrowing from film a rewind function would be useful.

Yeah, that's mostly how I felt as well, except I dug the smash cuts and I'm surprised that hasn't been picked up by other games (that I know of). It's not like modern games have a shortage of sequences where you do nothing but press forward; might as well experiment with it instead of just straight up daring me to

That's because there's usually no bitrate-murdering film grain, there are large sections of uniform colors, and generally there's a lot less motion. Anyway, dunno about Adventure Time, but the elaborate backgrounds of, for example, a Ghibli movie definitely benefit. So much, in fact, that I put their stuff second to

I haven't given it a real chance yet, so who knows, I might end up loving this too. For me, honestly, that Metal Gear feeling already started fading a bit with 3. I just think Kojima is really great at designing corridors and would love it if he did more of that and less open areas.

Naomi is such a terrible character in 4. EVA gets a pass from me because she's pretty much making Snake her Bond girl, which is kind of awesome.

Not tradionally. But then in 4 Meryl's plot was getting married and Mei Ling went from hyper-competent engineer to klutz who falls down so we can ogle her butt. Also implied to only be in the position she's in because she cozied up to some older admiral while having no real skills in that field. And then there's the

Most Japanese games use X to cancel and ◯ to confirm, but switch them around in localization. Metal Gear Solid was one of the few that didn't up until 3. That changed with MGS4, which also introduced sticky cover and agile over-the-shoulder shooting. That's why, while obviously no big deal in itself, I feel that

I got suckered by the preorder deal which got me a Peace Walker HD download and so I had this downloaded and went to check if the activation went through around midnight. On the XMB, I got pretty hyped suddenly, more than during any of the teasers or gameplay videos. New MGS! Then I opened it, got to the menu and

Have I missed a discussion on Joe Kickass' The Average Joe? I'm not too fond of his voice that somewhat reminds me of Pacewon's, but his rapping is decent enough and the production is nice and dusty with some rumbling bass. Here's a link to the snippet: https://soundcloud.com/proj…

Seriously. I guess the extra beats on the extended Champion Sound are largely rubbish, but the actual album is dope. The Red is unimpeachable, Survival Test is the best kind of insane and Raw Shit actually makes Madlib's rapping sound pretty decent.

I don't really get into them either, but I wouldn't mind trying some multiplayer shooting for a short while again soon. I suspect most of my friends will gravitate towards Evolve instead though, so that's probably what I'll end up getting (eventually, for 7.50).

I'm on the fence there. I don't think I'd automatically recommend this to a Lebowski fan. Marlowe is far from a bumbling fool, the plot in this is far less outlandish, visually it's not half as hallucinatory, and the humor is much drier. If noir persiflage was an entire genre, they might as well be the two

His hair is a sight to behold, though. And Jesus, his body really looked exactly like a He-Man action figure before he somewhat slimmed down for full-time acting.

Thanks, and I'm sure I will. I just started redoing a computer programming project I scrapped ages ago just to distract myself from the actually somewhat pressing matter I should be concerned with right now. So if nothing else I can already empathize with Bernard way more than is probably healthy.

There's legitimate storyline value to squashes though. NJPW rarely has them, and honestly they could use them. I don't need to see Suzuki fight Tiger Mask or whatever for 15 minutes, I just want to see him chew him up and spit him out so he looks like a genuine menace.

The PSP one, which seems fairly competent for a remake of a 2D classic (and while I would have preferred the original version, I'm eternally grateful for suspend modes). I've been warned to stay far away from The After Years, though.
