As Wario even been featured in any mainline Super Mario game since Super Mario Land 2? I can’t think of a single one that isn’t a spin-off title (or remake, à la SM64 DS that you mentionned).

You also can’t accidentally eject the game cart. The New 2DS XL has a cover over the cart slot. It is something that happens more often than it ever should on a New 3DS XL since they moved the cart slot to the front.

Maybe it’s only a placeholder for a future DLC?
