It’s weird. I had a GBA SP and played on it for years, and I didn’t even remember it didn’t have a headphone jack. I think I just used to play portables with the sound off altogether back then, so it never really bothered me.

Nothing? I recently finished Horizon, and am in a sort of video game limbo. There’s not really anything new I feel like playing at the moment... Except for Breath of the Wild, but don’t have a Switch yet. :(

I really, really like the style they went with on the PS4 version. It just looks great! I’m really digging this kind of hybrid between a cel-shaded and a more photo-realistic look (I’m not sure what to call it). It just looks so smooth!

We never got Theatrhythm Dragon Quest, though :(

Gotta love not being able to use the screenshot button and having a picture of your screen like it’s 2007. Thank you, Atlus!

I was curious to maybe give Persona 5 a try, given how much great stuff I’ve heard about P4. But I’ve been over a couple reviews, and a couple of “tips” articles like this one, and it just seems... exhausting? It completely squashed any desire I had to play it in the first place... :(

I got surprised on quite a few occasions with this game, starting a mission or side-quest, thinking “oh, that’ll only take 30 minutes, and then to bed!”
Nope!

One thing I really liked about the Cauldrons, too, is that they’re all pretty different from one another. May it be in the way you get into them, navigate through them, or what you’ll encounter once in them, they all stand out and avoid feeling like a re-skinned copy-paste of each other.

Aloy is based on Dutch actress Hannah Hoekstra:

Some of these visuals, such as the human settlements, are tailor-made, but Beek estimates that about 80% of Horizon’s natural landscape is procedurally generated.

They did

And if they had decided to show him in the trailer, people would’ve complained that they’d spoiled the surprise. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

I’ve encountered only one bug so far: the Robbing the Rich sidequest that won’t finish itself when you go back to the NPC. And I see it’s been fixed in that patch, so yay!

In games like this, the problem isn’t really about being fluent or not in another language (from a speaking/understanding point of view). It’s more that my English vocabulary is more limited, thus sometimes words don’t come as naturally from the jumbled letters as they would in my first language. And at other times, I

I’ve been playing a bit over the weekend and I’m really liking it! Though, with English not being my first language, it can get surprisingly difficult.

They’re good dogs dinos Brent!

Ugh... I only did the trials of the first hunting ground (did pretty poorly at them too), and have very little intention of doing any more. I absolutely hate timed trials in video games.

I should probably try to start using the slings more. I tried to use them a couple time, but mostly from afar and was frustrated by how short their range was. So I’ve mostly stuck to the bows and ropecaster.

I was talking about it with a friend at work this week. The game doesn’t get easier as you progress. You just get better at it. It’s great!
