Id love to hear your counter argument(s). Do you believe piracy does not affect the industry? Do you feel that these microtransactions are unethical in some way? Do you feel microtransactions are forced?

You could at least offer a counter argument instead of barking at me like a dog...
They’re a business... Why do they exist if not to create a product that consumers will WANT to spend their money on. There’s no “expense” here. Expenses are rooted in necessity. You do have a right to dislike it though so I’ll leave you with that.
Perfectly sound logic. If that same person pirates 10 games a year and you remove their ability to pirate for the following year, how many games will they buy? If your answer is anything greater than one, then you can’t argue that they did not harm the industry.
Were those studies the end-all of the argument? Look at it logocally, if someone pirates 10 games a year and you remove their ability to pirate for the following year, how many games will they buy? If your answer is anything greater than one, then you can’t argue that they did not harm the industry.
That’s an interesting point. I assumed the microtransactions were for additional profit. You believe they are to cover some sort of new cost(s)?
I’m right there with you, but the trick which has been proven time after time (in the mobile world) is that you can literally give a game away for free and the gross generated by those paying for microtransactions is more than enough to make up for people like you and I that won’t ever buy anything.
I think there were studies along those lines, but they certainly did not conclude the debate by any means. Look at it logocally, if someone pirates 10 games a year and you remove their ability to pirate for the following year, how many games will they buy? If your answer is anything greater than one, then you can’t…
I’m not sure how this example disproves the negative effect of piracy on the industry. I would never argue that microtransactions are necessary. The Witcher 3 was successful for plenty of reasons.
Every since piracy became much more accessible, game developers/publishers have taken a hit. There’s literally no good argument against it - they flat out lose some sales at the end of the day(even if some pirates weren’t going to buy anyways) because people are cheap assholes.
Jesus, you thought this one dragged on worse than the original? By the time the first one picked up, the credits rolled.
If your poster is wide enough, a solid rare-earth magnet will grab on to the nails on the studs. Of course, this will only pan out if you happen to have nails at the exact height 😆
I learned from an unfortunate personal experience that painter’s tape is no bueno for long term use. It came off with a nice chunk of paint!
You’re correct, but the cost for a vehicle will only INCREASE beyond invoice for a dealer depending on monies they choose to set aside from the getgo. There’s no accounting method where you can account for money you may or may not accrue, this cost will never be less than invoice. It’s what all the deals are worked…
The fact all of this was news to me at age 30 is a friendly reminder to avoid fights altogether because I’ll likely be worse at fighting than the other guy and end up on the ground.
I double/triple layer at work usually with an X pattern. It has the added benefit of reducing streaks for the next person. Nobody enjoys a toilet covered in war wounds.
Curious about the date range. I’d be impressed if a dealer worked out a plan in 2009 with these guys and got Cash for Clunkers money on every deal they did.
Incorrect, the dealer’s cost IS always invoice. The rebates change each month, but the cost does not. This misconception leads to a lot of mistrust in the industry. “My neighbor was here last month and got the identical car for $4000 less. You’re obviously scamming me.”
Why is everyone talking as if the industry has a problem? The industry is the same as it always has been, and always will be. The problem is that the job is for people with a need for slightly more income than a fast food clerk or a grocery store bagger. It is one rung above rock bottom. It won’t change because people…
Not at all. I don’t use the word, I don’t care for anyone who does, and you won’t find me arguing about fair use of the word or what have you.
I do however find it shortsighted to think people will remove a word from their vocabulary when it’s literally broadcasted casually to millions of people each day. Remove race…
