The first thing I ever drove was a Ford Ferguson (9N?) in 1957 in the yard of my family’s International Harvester dealership. It was a good way to learn the fundamentals of driving.

Everything old is new again.

Starred for the Mustang II comments. One of mine was built for the 1/8th mile and I loved smoking Fox bodies, 300 Zs, and Camaros off the line back in the 90s.

I want one, I have a tiny yard but they are so damn cool!

Southern Indian rats be all, “What’s up with this mild-ass shit?  Can I get a few ghosts and maybe a reaper in my tape buffet?”

26' Uhaul, fully loaded

Not a car. But you should drive an old tractor. I am a little biased but a late 40s - early 50s John Deere B. Hand throttle, hand clutch, two brake pedals, manual steering and that beautiful “putt putt putt” of the 2 cyl.

Hey.  I’ve lived in Topeka....  They don’t even know what clams are.

THIS STUFF DOESN’T WORK!! WOW!!

lots will say miata, but that’s boring. the answer for that category is an Alfa Romeo Spider. wonderful italian roadster with nothing but the basics. no power tops. no traction control. just you in a tiny car close to the road that’s fun as can be. plus, the stick shift comes out of the dashboard!

Monster truck. This is more for me than anyone else, but if every gets to drive one, then that means I do too.

A mid ‘60s pickup truck. Not anything fancy. Preferably rusty and rattling. Maintained with the Shade Tree Mechanic aesthetic. Mismatched tires and torn seat covers. No AC. No power steering. Metal dashboard. Underpowered straight 6 and and a 4 speed manual. A three foot metal bar stick shift coming out of the

A car with manual everything. I’ve driven a few cars without power steering and a manual transmission and it makes you really think about what you are doing at all times.  Parallel parking really make you appreciate a power steering pump.

Something with a loud V8, and conversely a fast ev (model 3 performance, etc)

Miata is the answer, a well setup Na with barely 90hp, manual steering no power brakes, still the most fun thing ive ever driven. Especially on winding country roads.

At least according to a quick search, mice have lower sensitivity to capsaicin than people, so if it didn’t bother the tester, the mice probably wouldn’t be deterred. That said, I know capsaicin aversion varies pretty widely among people. I love hot stuff (extra-spicy at the Thai place, thank you) while I’m pretty

Minivans make people uncomfortable because they are the real sign of actual virility instead of a small car for two people or a truck that kids would need a ladder to get into. It just rubs your ability to reproduce in everyone else’s face and not everyone is secure enough to handle that.

The 25 year rule doesn’t exist for safety or emissions, it’s because importing “grey market” cars from Europe was so lucrative a business in the 70s and 80s that the dealership lobby paid off Washington to make it illegal.

I’m shocked this wasn’t a slideshow.  Spent a few seconds looking for the ‘Start Slideshow’ button.

Adding on to the Saturn angle, I had some idiot at one of those shady buy-here-pay-here lots try to sell me on a Saturn L100. He said they were “reliable because they were built by Toyota”.
