I agree that LOBSTER had a stronger through-line (ie they stuck to a single musical) and an better payoff (ie they managed to change the customer’s mind). This was fun but disjointed. I think adapting LITTLE SHOP to a bodega bathroom with a man-eating toilet could have worked on its own. I guess it’s not a bad problem

They should have gotten Gary Oldman in his HANNIBAL makeup.

End of an era that I didn’t even know I was in.

I was expecting to read about a reboot starring Daniel Radcliffe as Voldemort.

Arkin and the cast in the Nichols version were good (even if I didn’t like the movie compared to the book). Something that puts me off about this new trailer is that a the cast seems uniformly handsome, clean, and in shape. The unit as described in the book made me think of a bunch of average, non-buff conscripts who

Are they getting Seth Green back as the voice of Howard? (I didn’t see any mention of it in the Hollywood Reporter article.)

I didn’t like the Nichols movie, but I also don’t know what to make of these snippets. Kyle Chandler in the Col Cathcart role gets the most focus and he seems waaaay wrong to me. On the other hand, if only for a few moments, the celebrations in Italy feel appropriately vibrant and goofy, and Clooney at least hams it

I saw that Chris Cornell just won a Grammy despite dying almost 2 years ago.  That required some Googling on my part.

One part cautionary tale, one part inspiration:

That’s a great idea. Or combo the two and have Scott Lang do a drum solo MST3K-style while watching a few Cap PSAs. But basically just stake out a slot in the middle of the movie where everyone knows it’s an intermission. It would be like a post-credits scene that stood apart from the rest of the movie and had no

You can actually sign up to be a test audience member in places like NYC and LA. They get your info and will contact you ahead of time if they need you to participate. Most of the time it’s not for blockbusters, and sometimes they didn’t even use scorecards, maybe they were just trying to create some buzz or see if

The Russos should just build in a mid-film 5-minute intermission and let everyone know about it in advance. Have Banner or Stark do a drum solo with a countdown timer on the screen, whatever.

More than many properties, this one would lend itself well to an anthology series on cable. Jump all over the globe, tell one-shot stories, both big and small.  Maybe have a couple of storylines that are recurring amidst the one-shots.  This could have been so much better.

They cut a climactic Russian battle (seen partially in a voiced-over montage at the end) and added the whole last section in the Wales lab (about 1/4 of the whole movie!) where Peter Capaldi plays “WHO Doctor”. And other than the laughable moment where Pitt stops to do a Pepsi commercial, I think that lab section holds

I never understood why Fincher would want to jump into a wanna-be franchise that stinks of past mediocrity and which most audiences have already forgotten. This always seemed like slumming on his part. I am sure Fincher, if he wants to get in on some hot tentpole action, has at the very least enough Hollywood clout to

I will forever laugh at the brainless dog Chevy buys that immediately runs away and can occasionally be seen running by in the distance.

In continuity, Winston makes total sense because he’d mentor anyone for some cash.

S2 of IRON FIST was much, much better than S1. Fairly low bar, sure.  But it jumped way over it and made me excited for what could have been a great S3.

That was my first thought, as well.  What director who wants a studio to give him a lot of money would say that his mission is to make a movie that notoriously lost a lot of money?

McKay needs to put away the “Speed Racer” comparisons if he ever wants a studio to finance this film. Because as you noted, SR was a massive flop that lost a ton of money.
