To be fair, it has been gone so long at this incarnation of the AV Club that the safer bet is to attribute it to a mistake.
Broke my brain reading that, but now I get it.
Carolla in the Clarkson role makes a ton of sense, even way back then. Squint and they are pretty much just the US and UK variants of the same dude.
Whether or not Filoni is the right guy, this move seems overdue - the Star Wars movies/shows needed a guiding hand / managing editor to keep things in order, and Kennedy was not successfully performing that role. Not sure whether the Rey/Kylo trilogy would have been better overall with Filoni managing it, but I assume …
The Artful Doctor <= it was right there!
They find the sweet spot as crowd pleasers in 3 or 4.
Chaplin is the role I will always refer anyone to if they want to see RDJ’s full range as an actor. Doesn’t matter what he was like off-screen, that’s really his thespian flag plant for the ages. I liked him as Tony Stark but he was often just performing a hyper-version of himself. (No shame in that, lots of older…
The ideal slideshow!
“Yellowjackets” showed everyone that Melanie Lynskey can project a ton of menace and authority, but that’s definitely not what she’s showing us in “The Last Of Us.” I was excited when I saw her appear, because I know she’s a skilled actor who *could* nail a role like this, but was left really cold by what she did…
Nothing to lose at this point by McConaughey showing up as a guest star and challenging Costner to a naked bongo-off for all the marbles!
The Quanaissance continues to pick up speed!
For real, if Marvel ever decides to bring back Finn Jones as Iron Fist (which seems like a major long shot!), the only way it could possibly gain traction is if he is second chair in a duo with Colter as Cage.
FALLOUT is on the way.
Strange Old Cage!!!!
Bacon is right about that. It mattered in 2022 and killed what had been a probable red wave. The more people see of these GQP loons, the more they want to vote against them. By narrowly winning the House and then ceding power to its craziest and least popular members, the GQP is the dog that caught the car, and 2024…

Similarly, I’m really glad Matt Smith got a showy, immediately-beloved role in “House of the Dragon” before the stink-by-association of “Morbius” settled on him.
The show unfortunately got weaker every season, and even though Comer and Oh did their best and there was a bit of magic every now and then, it was an overall disappointment I can’t recommend to new viewers. But the finale / conclusion was so bad and so unsatisfying that even the writer who created the character…
Fortunately this airs on Showtime and not HBO Max.
