Yeah. I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old and my back/joints are STILL not as strong as they used to be. Just trying to take it easy on myself and do light exercise when I can! (which is, let’s be honest, like once a week, if that).

Yes! My ribcage got bigger too, I have two kids. Also, I am 5lbs below my pre-kids weight (probably because I mostly survive off of PB&J crusts) but I still fit into my pre-kid clothes, though now it’s all just... different. Also my boobs shrunk, and I didn’t even have much to begin with :( Bodies are crazy things,…
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this podcast and ever since discovering it over the winter, have devoured every single episode. I subscribe, I rated it on iTunes... the works! I just want more, MORE! It’s been a Godsend for me.
I have an almost 3 year old and my second just turned one... the first year with two of them was rough.…
Yeah I think these are cute and I was just thinking that I would totally wear them with black high top converse!
oh, this was the cutest. I loved it when it aired, and I forgot all about it until now! Thanks!
me too!
Exactly. I recently switched jobs to a more formal office, and needed office-appropriate clothes. I was like, “This will be cake! I’ll head to Gap, grab everything I need, and be done in an hour!” Nope. I was SO disappointed with the cheap quality, bizarre sizing, and INSANE prices. I used to always be able to count…
YES!! I remember this so vividly, and I remember thinking, “they look so cool!” but now I just can’t believe what they’re wearing was cool... even though I know it was! Very weird, this getting older thing.
Some of it was cute! All I was able to get my hands on was a pair of little shorts for my toddler, which will be perfect on her. I was mostly interested in the houseware stuff- the plates and mugs were cute... and I wouldn’t have minded a pair of the shorts for myself. Summery and fun!
The Coach logo print story... haha! that’s awful! I have a vintage leather Coach bag from the 70’s that my mother in law gave me (she never used it!!!) and the only people who compliment me on it are people who know fashion. It feels like I’m in a secret club and it’s fun! I would hate it if it had the logo on it!
This image made me laugh SO HARD! Why is it so funny?!?! I cannot stop laughing...
Similar coloring here, and I find that dark purple liners are my favorite. And for mascara I usually go for a black/brown, not straight black!
I'm 32 and have a toddler and an infant, and at MY age I'd rather be run over by a bus than have another baby. I have a cousin who was 38 when she had her first baby (I was about 25 at the time) and she grabbed me by my shoulders and said, "Do it now. Now. I DO NOT HAVE THE ENERGY FOR THIS SHIT!"
Yep, it will get easier though, little by little! Just remember you're not alone, and millions of bewildered parents have come before you, wondering, "is it REALLY this hard?!" hahaha.
THANK YOU for this! Really, I love hearing other parents' insights. I agree, I have some time to think about it, but I like to OVER think things, so, yeah :) Really appreciate this nice reply.
Oooh, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I always said I wanted three, but after two (23 months apart, and the youngest is 11 months old currently), I feel maxed out energy-wise. My husband stays home with them during the week while I work 9-5, and then he works on weekend mornings. We are SO TIRED. I wonder if we just…
Yes. My girls are 23 months apart (on purpose!). Having two is exhausting, in ways you cannot even imagine. BUT!!!! As the little one gets older (mine is 11 months now), they start playing together, the big one will help feed the little one, they will start playing with the same toys, the little one will be endlessly…
I feel you, and you know what, the first year with two of them IS SO HARD. I'm almost through the first year (my eldest is 2.5 and my little one is 11 months). So, they're close together. It's hard. NOBODY TOLD ME HOW MUCH HARDER IT WOULD BE TO HAVE A SECOND ONE. One kid feels like one, two kids feels like ten. That's…
You're not selfish, you are NORMAL! Signed, a mother of two who adores her kids, but sometimes thinks, "Man, remember when I used to sleep in? that was awesome..."
YES. We had our first, and adapted very easily to parenthood, and were like, "what's going to be the big difference with having another? Let's do this!" So our girls are 23 months apart. All I can say is... HOLY CRAP. We were not prepared for how much more work it was!!! What the hell? You think, 1+1=2, but it's…
