absolutely. the most personality of the big 3 japanese options (camry, accord being the other two), came standard with the v6 and just as reliable and built as well as the other two in that era.

Def my fav of the three in the 90s. The renault merger era that followed brought better on paper numbers, but those 90s

oh sure the earlier maximas (before the 3rd gen above) did talk - i had a friend in high school that had one hahaah

My first two cars (an 89 and a 5spd 91) were 3rd gen maximas. TERRIFIC cars. 90s Nissan was peak Nissan. They were just as good as honda and toyota at the time with more personality.

I have always loved these things and still think it’s a slam dunk for style/quality/etc.

Tech is old and that will age it poorly compared to anything newer but the 4.5l is great, and 100k ish miles is not much for those (I still DD a 05 FX45 and it’s terrific aside from mpg).

I feel that it would be a nice feature to have on any motorcycle, but unlike an EV bike, it’s not nearly that simple.

Weight, complexity, and failsafes that are needed for it don’t work that well with most motorcycles. Nobody is batting an eye when it’s standard equipment on an 800lb goldwing that costs well over 20

Corvette. C5z, C6 GS, C6  Z - any/all of the above.

Those were SO cool - like a cross between an old school muscle car and an old man mobster car but better than either. I kind of get why it didn’t catch on, but it’s a shame they retreated to something less interesting (though still very nice) after just a couple of years.

I D.D. a fx45 of that era and the drivetrain is

Title COULD be:
Tesla Cybertruck is pure spectacle, no substance.

My thoughts are that range anxiety usually doesn’t matter OFTEN but when it does it’s a non-starter. Nobody wants to do a road trip assuming/hoping they’ll be able to charge in useful intervals. For those who do at least occasionally leave the area code, even the larger battery/range EVs are a non-starter.

I love the

As little respect I have for that era of dodge (save the Viper), my mom had one of these when they came out in like 98 or so - the v6 one and it genuinely was a nice car to drive. Handled pretty well, was fun enough and I was shocked to like it as much as I did for what it was.

But, 25yr old dodge? eeeeeh, nah.

My current stable is close but caps lower than 10ok, so I’m going to bump up a few of my current items to make this:

Most of it reminds me of a range rover crossed with a navigator - pretty cool I guess. the rear is hideous though.

It just looks awful.
One of those designs where individual sections are kind of cool, but when assembled together look awful.
Both the front and rear is interesting and far less mini-van esque as many crossovers can resemble, but it doesn’t look like the rest of the car.

Nose by hurucan, rear bumper by lotus, with an

I’m not through the whole list yet, but when I started I was hoping “SPY” was on there somewhere and happy it was. That movie was such a cliche boring trailer, but thankfully one of the few times the trailer didn’t show the good stuff. That movie had zero promise but was absolutely hysterical.

Barber. The most beautiful museum and one of the greatest race tracks in the country.

Maybe a ford raptor? Similar concept as the rally car but add ground clearance and ALL terrain ability. Plus, won’t get nudged very easily.
Also, fast enough to outrun stuff, and whatever handling deficit it would have would be made up by being able to ignore the roads/curbs/terrain - you would not have much issue

I was absolutely planning on getting it day one.
Until I saw the price, and the no-backwards compatability.
I need one or the other. I was going to buy the old one but once vr2 was announced, I didn’t want to do that and i’d just wait. I did expect it to cost a tad more than the old one, but I didn’t expect 600

Great to see that Honda didn’t forget this new crowd when it made the front brake hose placement in front of the gauges just like in the CRF250l

While I see what you’re going for, lets just not rock the boat. I have had some of the same thoughts (i was nearly yelling at the screen “throw the empty bullets down the hall, not put in your pocket!”).

As somebody who DD’s an Infiniti FX45 (the prior gen of the example shown but the upsell v8 model) it’s absolutely fantastic as a DD (ignoring the horrible mpg).

Granted, the v8 only gets 1mpg worse than the VQ powered fx35 so why not make v8 noises with some more power?

Good article, all good choices.
