As somebody who DD’s an Infiniti FX45 (the prior gen of the example shown but the upsell v8 model) it’s absolutely fantastic as a DD (ignoring the horrible mpg).

Granted, the v8 only gets 1mpg worse than the VQ powered fx35 so why not make v8 noises with some more power?

As somebody who DD’d, Road Tripped, Tracked and AutoCrossed a FRS for 9 years straight, if the driver claims the car is boring, they are the boring one. Those things are a RIOT to a decent or better driver all the time.

I scrambled to get my phone for a pic but failed to snap the freaking Bugatti Chiron that was driving around in a rainstorm friday night while I drove my 17yr old D.D. Infiniti to get takeout wearing sweatpants. 

The problem with most people’s definitions is that they tend to put firm values on the criteria and with time they all get outdated. 500hp? In the 90s that would’ve cut it, but sadly that’s not that much ‘these days’.

Well, whether or not it was better or worse than the geo metro/swift - those cars are perfectly acceptable in the mid 90s as bottom rung stuff, but so many years later to have a car that is equal or worse than that is shameful. 

My main thought that angered me that kept coming up was “how is this so bad, “WE” have learned how to make better cars in every single way, this should not be a new vehicle this late in time”

Aztek wasn’t the worst by far. Maybe the ugliest? But ignoring styling (a challenge I know) it was a middle of the road CUV with class leading functionality and was kind of ahead of its time in a few ways. Just happened to be hideous.
