You know, not all horror fans love every sub genre of horror. They probably saw the movie because they enjoy horror, but the “gore for gores sake” stuff is pretty shit usually. I’m not sure why pointing that out is such a problem.

The later love for Halloween III: Season of the Witch sometimes confuses me. I feel like sometimes we want to overcompensate for the fact that Carpenter was probably right about trying to move away from Myers for a while — the anthology idea has seemed like a better idea after almost every subsequent movie.
Never mind, I found it. It's a surprisingly meditative thinkpiece on the life of a French peasant during the reign of the Sun King. I only vomited twice and called emergency services once.
Fox News has already gone after Mister Rogers for preaching radical leftist ideology like “everyone matters” to children.
bigoted person doing deplorable things without thinking twice: Why are you guys so angry all the time *eats baby*
progressive person: because you think the status quo is skewed in your favour is ‘correct’ and ‘normal’.
Fuck off.
“If the circumstances were totally different, then your position would be wrong!”
Nothing says Epic Fantasy Backdrop like suburban Dubuque, Iowa.
Not quite Ben Shapiro with a sword but pretty close.
fact-checkers for A Feast For Crows (which gives us pause because, again, Westeros is not real)
Reminder, these aren’t just random bloggers. These are Martin’s personal fact checkers. They see more of his work in progress than his editors and as Martin has gotten and gets older have placed themselves in a position to shape Martin’s work to their whims since he goes to them to keep the continuity straight as he…
Basic physics? Snapping the arrow like that’s going to move the shaft in the process.
1. Nobody ever opens it to see what it is. As soon as Adar gets it, he walks out of the cottage, says ‘Waldreg, I have a task for you.” Then the Numenoreons attack and it’s not seen again until waldreg is turning the key. Adar must have given it to him off screen there. Then Adar rides off as a distraction/decoy.…
So you don’t think insanely beautiful people can also be good at other things?
It’s physically possible, but violates multiple legal statutes.
I’m not sure that X expects us to take the protagonists at face value - the movie isn’t anti-porn, but it’s very clear that characters are struggling at the lower rungs of adult entertainment (stripping at an oil refinery, shooting low-budget porn). When they express ambition (to make an artful porn movie, to be…
I liked X a lot more than I thought I would - then again, I don’t really like slashers much, so take that for what it’s worth. It was fun, stylish, and creepy, and there was clearly a lot of thought and care put into it.
Obviously there’s room for both of these films and more it’s more the timing that seems odd to me.
I don’t know what goal posts you’re talking about, the poster tried to pretend like the effects of colonialism are not present today or in 1947 lol.
Purity tests on historically based films are always going to lead to failure. It’s great to recognize where dramatization and reality part ways, but acting as if any movie has ever been 100% accurate is silly at best.
