I'm a pretty unabashed fan of Alter Bridge, and Blackbird is one of my favorite rock albums of the last decade. I think "White Knuckles" has a riff that sounds like it was handed down from on high by the rock gods. It's a bit busy, sure,—not as easily hummable as, say, the one for The Rolling Stones'

This may seem like a strange choice, but one of my favorite guitar solos is in A Perfect Circle's "Magdalena." I feel like the best guitar solos are the ones that aren't a bunch of noodling but actually present a new melody, almost more like an instrumental bridge. (Boston's Tom Scholz was pretty great at this.) This

I'd like to see Nicholas Briggs take over, as the Big Finish audios tend to have the type of plots I prefer. Unfortunately, I know it's just a pipe dream.

Once my girlfriend pointed it out, I can't not see it; Matt Smith's Doctor is a Manic Pixie Dream Boy.

I don't think [season five] had single terrible episode!

Yep. I remember that being the episode that made the series click for me. By the cliffhanger, I found myself thinking, "I need to see the second part now!!!" Unfortunately, I had to wait a week.

Thanks to Big Finish (and now "Night of the Doctor"), 8 is my favorite!

"They're not even wearing a smile. Not suggestively. Yes six, count em, six gorgeous ladies just dying for your leers and cat calls. Yowza yowza!"

Hollywood don't even know shit about Hollywood, apparently. Anyone who lives in LA knows that the amount of travel the characters did in 24 was absolutely impossible by car. Large portions of that show should have been Jack Bauer stuck in freeway traffic.

The Indian version of 24 isn't a musical, though. It's just a straightforward thriller series set in India. From an article on The National:

I just said Clint Eastwood because I imagine he's the most corny example of an American Film Star. Yes, even more corny than John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe…

Man, I really wish Dio were still alive. I'd much rather have another Heaven & Hell album.

That was actually the deciding factor for me when I decided on the Nook. At the time, Kindle books were not available to check out from library websites, so I figured it would make more sense. I have been regretting that decision for a while now, especially now that I've built up such an extensive Nook library. It

I remember thinking it was boring the first time I saw it at the age of 18. Several years later, I watched it again and wondered what the hell was wrong with my younger self. This movie rules! I also really love Kill, Baby…Kill! and Black Sabbath. Here's hoping Kino gets those on Blu-Ray sometime soon (and that

Agreed.

I've noticed that there have been many occasions where certain things say they'll no longer be available after a certain date, but I'll come back after this supposed deadline and see that they're still there. Perhaps Netflix will renegotiate the agreements in time.

Yeah, Nausicaa is one of the best things I've ever read, graphic novel, prose, or otherwise.
