It’s like they sat down and developed a vehicle with the sole purpose of appealing to as many groups of assholes as possible.

Alternatively, they could include EVs and a MPGe figure (a realistic one) and continue to push increased fuel economy requirements.

150 more miles than a Hummer and 100 more than the Silverado/Sierra EV on a similarly sized battery?

The Sienna’s hybrid issue is that the van does not leverage the torque from the e-assist very well. Folks thinking they are getting 250bhp are not finding the 180lbs of torque exciting. A fair bit of difference from the old V6 with over 100lbs more. That is what they are comparing. Consumers “buy” horsepower but

Isn’t a ridgeline an accord with a bed?

Enthusiasts demand a manual, but in this day and age I HAVE to wonder if that being the only option will impair its sales.

Mine does have the performance package with the diffs. The AWD system only routes power front to rear, not side to side. The LSDs would route power to the wheels that need it most. LSDs would be noticeable at the limit and corner exit. The LSDs allow you to get on the power sooner as well. Just meandering about town

The Touring models start at around 700 lbs dry weight, but Softails are about 50 lbs lighter, so your attempt at citing an overly heavy number wasn’t quite heavy enough.

Maybe this is a way to shutdown a redundant brand: spin it off to investors, pull in some $$$ with the IPO. The brand goes bankrupt with a load of debt after a few years and the entire dealership network gets shutdown ‘for free’.

They’re not designed to have that kind of range. They’re meant for relatively short, semi-fixed delivery routes with plenty of downtime to charge overnight.

1st gear: Can Rivian even make more than 10k Amazon vans a year? Do they have that capacity? They produced 25k vehicles in 2022. They have a projected production capacity of 40k vehicles in 2023 and 40k in 2024. It’s a solid ramp up but they arent exactly in a position to scoff at 100k units from Amazon.

What I don’t know exactly is what profit do they derive from selling AP and FSD or selling EV credits? I haven’t looked into their financials in depth, so not sure if they divulge those numbers. But their cars may not make as much as we think they do without other revenue streams.

Tires - I 100% see the writing on the wall and it’s been in bad shape for years. Covid/supply chain issues have not helped either.

Probably unrelated, but I’ve been seeing semi trucks full of brand new heavy truck tires (on wheels) on my commute lately. Not sure where they’re coming from or where they’re going, but I haven’t seen them on my commute before recently. (PNW, so probably Kenworth/Paccar related)

I’m sure that had something to do with it, but the CRV sold significantly worse than the RAV4 in the years before the pandemic, before parts shortages were a thing.

Yep. One trashed truck, speed verified. One trashed Mercedes, thrown 75 feet by the impact. One dead kid, directly related to the impact. Shrapnel for hundreds of feet.

He was placed on paid administrative leave following the crash...”

Build it and they will come

YOUR NOT THE BOSS OF ME!

Lexus has always sold a lot of cars. Just to your grandparents.
