The 4xe is a plug in hybrid where both ICE and electric connect to driveline. This is range extended battery electric vehicle. Essentially, the V6 is not directly attached to the drive system. The V6 is only designed to recharge the batteries as needed.  This is an electric vehicle prepackaged with a generator like

I predict that the prices of the cars will not decrease dramatically. Maybe slightly. The profit margins on them, however, will increase substantially.

New 2023 Rams by me are being advertised at 17% to 20% off MSRP.

Kinda sounds more like they are blaming workers. If the argument is that the Biden administrations pro-union agenda caused this, then the obvious conclusion is that a strong union made this happen, not federal policy. It’s like blaming a speeding ticket on dad because he encouraged their kid to get a license and a car.

A co-worker of mine bought a new Mach-e sight unseen and had no clue how to charge it at home. Really didn’t know anything about it. She asked me cause I’ve had a model 3 for years. Some people are just not too bright and throw money at new shiny things, then realize they jumped the gun and sell the cars. Not really

Why the hell are you giving them ideas???

As someone with two small kids, the rear touchscreen is simply something just waiting to get jumped on by a youth size 12 Nike as they try to wrangle out of their car seat.

Lower prices increases sales rather often.

That Vinfast valuation is what we might call Vinsane.

Man nothing demonstrates how fake the economy is more than a company that saw less than 200 vehicles registered in the US and under 20k sold internationally this year being valued higher than Ford or GM

I agree that EVs are overpriced, but I think that’s largely due to the manufacturers wanting to get the maximum profit from a new model vehicle. That makes comparisons to ICE vehicles more difficult and not 1 for 1. For example, anyone who has sat in an Ariya wouldn’t compare it to a Rogue.

I love that Stellantis is blaming marketing for their slip...what a move. Its those idiots in marketing not our dealer inventory or products...

Common misconception, but there is only one gen of the Bolt. 2022 saw a refresh (and new model), but not a new generation.

Grim indeed. I view the role of government as one that is meant to correct imbalances and negative externalities, while making critical investments to ensure the long term prosperity, not just survival, of a nation (which is not a system but a people). Wealth and power have always been closely intertwined; and we find

Mercedes and BMW used to be supremely well built vehicles as well, not just about performance and technology, and definitely not about showing off. They were what “old” money buys - understated but understood to be expensive.

I’m curious how much of that margin also came from upcharging massively for Full Self Driving. Considering that the beta has completely failed to deliver on the promised performance, and in fact is under investigation by the NHTSA for killing people. Fair chance that Tesla might end up in a legal situation where at

So cheaper cars have the shortest inventory. Shocking, considering the brands have been pushing hard to sell more expensive product. Remember, the chip shortage meant manufacturers selling only more expensive models because of the fatter profit margins.

A standard is good news, as far as wider adoption of electric is concerned. This doesn’t make Elon Musk any less of a douche, of course, but that’s a whole different story.

VW ID.4, Ford F-150 Lightning, Cadillac Lyriq, Chevy Bolt/BoltEUV, and all Teslas are the only current EVs in fact that meet the full “made in USA” stamp of approval to qualify for the IRA 2023 $7500 tax credit.

Man, the owner of the dealership I work at is gonna be *pissed* if he has to replace the four Level 3 chargers we just installed. That’s something that other dealerships will have to contend with as well - and manufacturers. “You made us install these in order to sell and service EVs, and now you’re changing the port
