Some of the best roads and trails for motorcycling anywhere and usually all to yourself. A good percentage of riders keep riding even when “raining”. I remember almost every time I took the ramp from I5 S to the 405 bridge in the wet. There was one expansion joint that was slick! You’d be coming around doing 50 and

Goosebumps! Thanks for sharing.

“There are no ditches at 90.” -Famous Baja racer when discussing trench booby traps dug by spectators.

Cult bike! If all you are doing is riding up fire roads, the tdm would work. Great bike on road. One of the best underappreciated bikes out ther .

Thor is a bit of an underground legend though. Both as a builder and a rider, he has the skills. Cool guy too. Rode with him a couple of times when I was living in pdx.

Not to mention vestigial fenders which would be shredded from a tire picking up a pebble.

=o) I like it down there too.

First, I’m only continuing this because you self described as “that guy”. So no hard feelings but check it:

Well “that guy”, dropping in to the wash is actually considered turn 4. Cardenas to Rotario, Rotario to Floresta, Floresta to Mateos, Mateos in to the wash. This ignores, add most racers do, the slight bend in Mateos just before the wash.

The difference is that these are actual bead lockers and not just for show.

I was in Singapore about ten years ago and saw a Monster 400. So they have made 400s more recently. Likely only for markets with licensing and tax restrictions based on displacement.

Surprised me that no one mentioned the history until now.

I knew a number of the Mission folks, including some of the CEOs. The reality is far from what you describe. I have nothing but respect for the team. They are incredibly passionate and talented. What they were able to accomplish with the resources available to them is astounding.

For those not in the bay area, Oakland is a real city, read not suburb, with city sized problems and city sized benefits. Oakland has many neighborhoods spread across economic, social, and ethnic spectrums. Don’t believe the hype.

Wild, I just walked by their shop yesterday and saw this bike. I’ll be back to read the article when I’m not working.

The most efficient way of moving over land right here.

What I have found is light tends to equal loud. Either way, I always wear ear plugs. I’d rather have a light helmet that is comfortable than a quiet one. Why can’t I have both though? So Sean, let us know how loud is this thing.

When you are wearing your helmet for 12 hrs in a day, light is good.
