It would solve the multiplexing problem as you wouldn’t get that bug past 30!

Yup. Was just there two weeks ago.
If you want to live in the stone age and not open you eyes and ears, have at it. But gyroscopic effect is not the only factor that keeps a bike from falling down. Even with the gyroscopic effect eliminated, two wheeled vehicles can be designed to be stable.
LegHumper FTW!!! (kids still say that right?)
Timely:
I’m pretty sure these guys did not see the TEDx I referenced above, but it looks like being on a scooter is no problem for them.
Motorcycles like bicycles do not have a primary thing which keeps them upright. It is a beautiful and complex interaction of a number of factors. TEDx and be amazed. Until you reach really high speeds, and/or large mass, and/or large diameters, the gyroscopic effect is not enough to keep the bike upright.
Yo Torch,
I agree. But its not Doppler. All that does is change the perceived frequency. What you are getting at is that most of the sound energy is directed rearward on a motorcycle. So even with ticket deserving pipes, you are not sending enough energy forward to have the impact you are hoping for.
I’ts the charging system not the battery. Look up Sasquatch mod for triumphs. Make sure to use dielectric grease liberality. Also add a voltmeter to check the charging state.
With modern cars being so well insulated, you need obnoxiously loud, and probably hearing damaging, pipes for you to be heared. So essentially, this is no different than any stock bike sold wrt sound.
470# on one, dual 17” wheels and spindly fork on both, would not inspire confidence in the dirt. Now the Rally Raid Cb500X referenced above is getting closer to what I am thinking of.
I was active on ADV when I was in Portland but have been off for the last few years. I completely missed this development. We all know the one bike to do it all is not possible, but this is as close as I’ve seen it. Thanks for the tip!
I was thinking even as low as 500. With direct injection, continuously variable cam timing, etc. you could put out plenty of grunt in a lightweight and small package.
Faraday Future has yet to announce their CEO. Hmm...
One of the times I was down for the Baja 100o, there was a big group of Japanese riders and support on shiny new Honda dirt bikes. One of the people I was with said they were the engineers and product people for Honda Japan. I thought it was awesome. I have not seen the video, but it does not surprise me that the…
2001 Triumph Tiger with almost 70k miles (50k of it mine). It was the best balance between cost, road, and dirt capability of the big ADV bikes at the time. The KTM is amazing off road. I’m much faster on it but I don’t need to be. It was not as good on the tarmac. BMW was too expensive. The DL650 was not capable…
Thanks!
Just tried to look for that piece, do you have a link by chance?
