You are completely forgetting that bringing in a factory and lots of employees also means a massive amount of expenses for the state. Which are usually covered by said taxes, which they are now not going to get. Duh.

The point is not that he gets taxpayer money (though I would argue that his companies getting so much taxpayer and competitor money through idiotic schemes is fucked up), the point is that he has been getting billions in taxpayer money but now hypocritically complains when others might get about a thousand dollars.

Also, Musk gets taxpayer money in approximately a billion different ways. his businesses are 90% based on taxpayer funding.

1) No, a max. 20% drop in passenger car CO2 emissions would not be huge. It would be pitifully small compared to what can be achieved if even a tenth of the trillions and trillions needed to switch to immensely more expensive EVs would cost would be invested into intelligent things.
