Bahaha, I love it! I was just thinking about this the other day; from what you said about the tv dial and mixtapes, I'm probably just a few years younger than you are. I have memories of checking out records from the library, winding cassette tapes with a pen, VHS tapes breaking because they got wound too fast by our

THIS. Safety is sexy. Be a sexy biker beast wearing a helmet, not a dead grease spot on the pavement!

Ditto for my brother. When he was a really little kid, he was riding too fast on his bike and flipped over his handlebars while going down a hill. He landed on part of his head. The emergency room doctors said that his helmet saved his life! He was bruised and scraped, but all other tests came back negative for

Especially since either Al or Mr. MeMeMe mentions all of the rehearsal tapes they made yesterday :/

That's the sweetest! Aww, congrats, :)

Also, can we just say Ducky Syndrome? "I had a vision of one day marrying you" "This is my dream"

Over here in France, I've had loads of little boys in my classes named Stanley and Stanislas, as well as Hugo. Calling a little kid Hugo is hilarious.

Also, Carter (Iowa)? Mason and Carter: people naming their sons Bricklayer and Cartmaker?

Start up your own company! Find out if you need any special training/certification (you may need to take a class about protecting yourself and others from biohazards, for example, but that's probably something you can do online). You can buy a minimum of tools to start out with and then add to that as you find out

I feel you—same situation here, except I occasionally throw in a, "What am I, your vassal who has to walk 10 steps behind or else?"

That's hilarious—I'm laughing so hard!

Although it's obviously a little bit over the top, I think it's pretty true to life.

That's the most horrible thing! :( The police? Wow. Just wow. I'm glad that it didn't go any further...? O.o

Oh, I totally understand, and I remember those days too (as I'm from the States)! Just wanted to show how in France that's not especially relevant to most students, as most students only work limited hours/internships because they don't need to spend all of their free time working. Case in point: my husband was given

Just chiming in to say YES!

In France, a university education is nearly free or free, depending on your financial circumstances. In many cases, you will even receive a stipend every month so that you don't have to work! Most students only work in the summer or spend their time doing internships because everyone can.

If you work 35 hours/week and have at least an hour (or 1.5 or 2 hours) I guarantee you that you will have time to shop. In France, many people get an afternoon off during the week, usually Friday.

In France, store owners who are Muslim or Jewish or other faiths that have non-Sunday holy/rest days can close their store on Friday or Saturday and be open on Sundays. And, employees' beliefs are respected as well: a store owner can't force a practicing Christian to work on a Sunday nor can they force a Muslim to

You obviously don't live in France.
