I drive a Mitsubishi Colt and an old Volvo XC90. Show me a thief that would target those.
Chrysler was renowned for a long time as an Engineering brand. Though I do expect to see her killed off as a brand under this new “Merger of Equals” (shudders), I have another idea. Make Chrysler your EV brand. It would not be hard to make a long range BEV out of the Pacifica to start considering the floor pan size…
I was pretty sad for the death of Pontiac since it had just started to find an Identity again. The GTO and G8 were cool. Oldsmobile was dead long before due to loss of identity in the badgeneered GM of the 90s, but I missed it more for nostalgia reasons. The first car I remember our family having was an 1983…
I have the same reaction. The irony is that Fiat thought it would draw more customers by building a Fiata with italian styling, however, when I see the miata it is based on, I am more drawn in.
I can sort of understand that mentality for 2 reasons. The first is that, from a mechanical standpoint, 15 years is a long time to work out the kinks. At this point, the drivetrain is a proven commodity. The little things that go wrong tend to be in the electronic/infotainment arena these days. I could easily justify…
I don’t know if this counts as the dumbest thing ever towed, but possibly the dumbest method. Last night, one of my troops called me and said his Nissan Frontier had snapped the water pump/alternator belt, overheated and broken down on a back road. I was the closest to him, so I drove out in my xc90 with a jump pack,…
from 2015 on, AWD was exclusively Pentastar because the ZF 8 speed transmission that replaced the 5 speed is too long to accomodate the transfer case with the Hemi. Back in 2014, the transmission was the shorter Mercedes 5 speed, so either engine could have the AWD setup.
Car Nerd Fact: When you turn on Defrost in your car, it turns on the A/C compressor to defrost the windshield.
I’m not sure I want the duster to change. I drove a 2016 in Romania not that long ago. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed driving that thing. It is by no means a Wrangler or anything, but it felt like it would probably be fine on the occasional trail. It was a 6 speed manual, turbo diesel, 4 wheel drive model. It…
Yeah, the early suspension bushings were crap on the LX models. I have seen some quality upgrades out there if I should pull the trigger. Right now I’m searching for the Unicorn; a 2011-2014 red 300C with the Hemi, AWD, and the light colored interior. I have my doubts that I will find one in decent shape if at all.
I wish they would have given the 300 SRT the Hell cat as one last performance hurrah. There are companies out there that can supercharge the 5.7L if you’re looking for a bit more power.
Lately I have been debating over finding a Magnum or one of the 2011-2014 300's with the V8 and AWD. once these things got the ZF 8…
I second the “They’re also pretty good cars.”
I’ll go against the grain a bit and say that a wrong from the factory car is cool. In this particular case, I would make the dealer fix it or try to get a rock bottom price for it without a fix. Those parts are not exactly rare or expensive to replace.
I liked it up until I read GM 6.5L turbodiesel. I guess they wanted a diesel, but weren’t really interested in mechanical longevity.
Gee, wonder why they didn’t sell many of those...
On a serious note, we just got rid of the last one in our fleet because it needed $7500 in repairs. It’s remaining repair budget by our system that weighs depreciation against the amount already spent to repair it had reached
-$9500 (you are seeing that correctly, it…
I should like to point out that it isn’t so much a renaming as it is an elimination of an extra name. The Kia Sedona has been the Carnival in other global markets (EU/Asia) for a few generations now.
or perhaps Mexico, NY?
In 1990, my father worked at a local garage that offered towing services and maintained the municipal fleet (Cop cars, etc). As a result he was friends with a lot of the local cops, fire fighters, etc. One of those cops was well known for spending about half of his day at a diner rather than doing his patrols. As a…
Pokemon GO was the first time in my life that I was 100% in support of a video game. It brought back survival of the fittest. I can’t imagine that the morons who walked off a cliff and wandered into traffic in search of a Squirtle were going to make a meaningful contribution to society. I distinctly remember the day…
