In my particular line of work, we tend to stick as closely as possible to OEM specs. That is, of course, unless someone with shiny shit on their shoulders (Officers), makes special requests that our “leadership” is too afraid to reject. One of these had to do with a CB radio. Commander’s cars often get outfitted with

Not technically a car, but...

Fun addition to Ford troubleshooting. From about 1998 until present day, Ford has been fitting it’s cars and trucks with a safety feature that occasionally triggers for no reason. Ford has a fuel shut off inertia switch that is designed to stop fuel from pumping during an accident. I have seen these be triggered by

Not to be a stickler, but doesn’t this same question get asked every single year on here?

There are two examples I have off hand. The first of the worst that I have dealt with was in a 2002 Chevy S-10. It was the most numb feeling manual I have ever experienced. It was a customer car, so I don’t know if it was modified, or worn in a weird way, but it felt like shifting with a dish rag.

The second was just a

Rumor has it Sony is planning a corporate name change. Whispers of Skynet as the leading contender are growing louder every day.

The Correct answer is obvious:

In that case, what about a Fiat Panda?”

Indeed. The legendary leaning tower of power.

I have been wrenching for the better part of the last 20 years, mostly on fleet vehicles. In those years I have learned a few things:

Torch wins with DTs cars. All the rest of your suggestions are bad and you should feel bad.

I would love to pair that Golden Eagle with DT’s free Grand Wagoneer, but lack the garage space and tolerance from those storing the SJ for me already. One project at a time.

I am quite jealous of you sir if this deal works out. That Valiant is a thing of beauty with one of the greatest engines ever made.

It’s times like these, I wish I was stationed stateside. I’m closing in on 100 days of leave saved up, and would love to take part in this project. The more I climb the ranks, the further I get from the shop floor. This would be a great opportunity to help David reach his goal and get the pent up wrenching withdrawal

Could end very poorly, but I like the idea of it suddenly putting the gunman in a moral conundrum. Save his dying friend, or shoot you. Of course, he could technically do both, but time is a factor once a car is on top of you.

It’s a compromise nice price pick for me. I loved my 4WD XJ, but rarely needed the 4x4, even in the snow. For the price and the lack of rust, it is worth it. However, I probably would do the stock 4WD conversion in the long run (After the FSJ Project of course).

While I respect the GM small block V8s, I have to agree on the cost cutting measures they take. They used the cheapest and most unreliable VVT setup I have dealt with on a V8 to date (a poorly made solenoid and a camshaft gear that magnetically adjusts the position of the camshaft somewhat independent of the drive gear

I would have bought a Commodore (sold in the US as the Pontiac G8, then the Chevy SS) over the impala any day. I prefer a RWD car that can still be had with 4 doors, a V8 engine, and a Manual Transmission. I am willing to compromise on the transmission if need be (I am a fan of the Chrysler 300, and Dodge Charger

We must act. I propose a regulation where if a horse encounters a car, the rider must pull over and rapidly disassemble the horse, then hide the horse parts in a bush until the car passes.

Starting in January 2023, I’ll be living in Tokyo for 3 years. Give me a heads up if you are going to hit the mainland on your journey. I can likely take some leave, offer a place to crash and some wrenching assistance.
