Until there is a non-Tesla charging network that is as extensive as the Tesla one, then I would take everything about customer loyalty with a massive grain of salt.

Best I can do is Taycan Cross Turismo

(Sorry if you have seen this post before—I am reposting so that potential first time EV buyers have a realistic view of range requirements).

Its not the 130, it's the 80 in winter that's the real issue

Dear Honda,

This guy just discovered what Uber / Lyft already know and have data to prove. Rideshare (of some evolution from today’s quagmire) is the answer for a meaningful portion of people all the time, and a significant portion of people most of the time, and ALL people some of the time.. What he also proved is that human

You have made a good argument for an Uber or Lyft operating as a public utility and investing in subsidized transportation options for people with disabilities as well as investing in transportation services which eliminate drunk driving.

Currently even with as little of the cut drivers take per each ride, both Uber

No one should buy your “keeping drunk drivers off the road” argument because prior to Uber, we had taxis.

Cutting off your nose to spite your face: Fresh from the finest* socialist minds around!

So when Uber and Lyft cannot meet the requirements to run drivers as employees and fail what happens?

And this people is why we cant have nice things. When it started Uber was a side gig for people that already have jobs to make a few bucks on the side. Then a bunch of people decided to do it full time and bitch about how the system doesn’t work as they assume it should. Uber/Lyft didnt do anything to discourage this

Yeah - I’d still take a Lyft or Uber with an open recall over most traditional cabs I’ve been in. Cabbies generally have little incentive to care about their cars if they still generate income, but uber/lyft drivers actually have to live with the state of their vehicle.

tell these idiots to get a job, this was made for a side gig or to help you look for a job while you collected unemployment. not to feed a family of 6

I understand why some may be upset over the 112mph cap, but if you take a step back and realize it’s part of their “no deaths in a car by 2020" initiative, then it’s a subtle hint that their cars are engineered to withstand a 112mph crash, which from an engineering perspective is kind of mind blowing.

I use Google Pay (they stopped calling it Android Pay a couple years ago now) for exactly this reason. ARCO accepts only debit, but they take NFC payments, so it's the perfect solution.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m so against this. The average American driver can’t handle a car above 45 let alone 100.

That is gross. It is usually about 100-150 miles of driving so 5-8 gallons at $3.50/gal (premium in CA). My rideshare rider is only $5 a month since I already carry a healthy amount of coverage. I drive UberXL and LyftXL, Lux, Lux Black, Lux Black XL only with 2016 Volvo XC90.

I can either Netflix and chill alone or go Uber/Lyft and make about $100-200 in about 6 hours.

This is really what it was meant for. You already have insurance, that rate doesnt change(at least for a high miler like me). So your overhead is <$0.50/yr. driving a few people home during peak hours, and only peak hours will net you some extra cash. No way to efficiently make a living doing that but it wasn’t meant
