Gig economy is great for side jobs! I have a good paying job that gives me healthcare and all that jazz, but sometimes I want to earn some extra money/keep drunks off the road. The presence of the gig economy does that for me.

I would love to pull the shell off some otherwise rusted out 40s and 50s cars and drop them on this and have a great looking electric car with only fabrication work required. Yes I understand this would still be difficult, but it does get you 70ish% of the way to a fully running car.
Imagine if they offered an EV equivalent of a crate engine – you could just buy the chassis and drive train and use it for kit cars and swaps.
Didn’t catch that, but good question!
Why 2 doors for one seat?
Dear SCO,
“We look at, how does the car work together,” some random aftermarket tuner said. “What is the chassis balance, what is the powertrain for that, and where we landed on that—900hp 2Jz swap provides us with the best combination of vehicle power and acceleration to the weight and chassis.”
My wife had the 2014 V-6 which I had her trade for a 2016 XC90. She is still pissed at me and insists on getting a Hellcat as we only have 2 kids. I told her to wait for the Red-eye.
I do not. I buy cars based on my wife’s approval of the safety rating.
Except they don’t speak to range and weight AT ALL on their website. The Ego looks good and costs about 27 large. If they’re not going to speak to the key performance limitation of an electric bike on the website, I suspicious. Very suspicious...
Seems this would be perfect to slap an electric power train (still no hood) and batteries (replace gas port) into and then done. You know a practical electric coupe. You could even make it a coupe hatchback with a frunk...how much more room do you need than that?
Dear fellow ride share drivers,
I think that climate might also play a role. Because rust.
Toyota: “Wow the Amazon team working on the Grand Tour actually want to use the Prius for promotions! Awesome! Give them like 10! We’re so glad the boys changed their minds on these! Everyone loves em!”
Wow. Who are these Uber drivers who “wish to maintain their independent status,” rather than wishing for, say, higher pay and health insurance?
Me. This is a second job for me. I like being an independent contractor and the freedom that provides me. If I don’t feel I’m being paid what I should, I don’t have to work…
Will you liberal pissbaby bloggers just leave well enough alone here? Some of us like the way Uber functions. Some of us aren’t interested in taking a huge pay cut and working required hours. Nobody is being exploited here. Nobody is required to work for them.
In the Seattle experiment, trip requests from black riders took between 16 to 28 percent longer to be accepted by both UberX and Lyft, and breaking UberX out showed a wait time of 29 to 35 percent longer than their white counterparts.
The acceptance time for Uber/Lyft drivers is a 10 second window per driver). Your…
