It’s not a ‘real’ Yaris, that’s the developing market Yaris that is really a Daihatsu product and sold as the Vios elsewhere. The European/Japanese Yaris is a significantly pricier proposition.

I dunno. Mitsubishi and Nissan have done pretty well on that alone.

The Polestar 4 is more upmarket. Polestar is not competing with Equinoxes and Model 3s / Ys and Hyundai/Kias.

My wife and I are getting her a GV60 for generally the same reason

I’ll raise you with the only good Nazi is a dead Nazi.

Elon Musk gave his Nazi salute at the shameful inauguration:

My wife wouldn’t even consider a Tesla when she was looking at EVs. Went with an ID.4 and considered Bolt EUV and Ford Mach E.

Having driven a Polestar 2 and recently seen their latest offerings, I really really like them and view them as an option.  Tesla on the other hand, has been removed from any consideration for years now.

I literally picked up a Polestar 2 in 2021 explicitly because I couldn’t stand Elon Musk and I wanted an EV. Ever since, he’s only further dug Tesla’s grave.

Polestar has decent EVs, but they’re not really price competitive new... Cheapest car starting at $57k... for a medium/large sedan...

The mental gymnastics that take place on the right around this issue are just bizarre. You can find lots of people insisting that tariffs will reduce the cost of living because (insert Underpants Gnomes logic).

God, that reminds me. When everything really started to take off my CEO tasked me and a bunch of people at my company to do a deep dive into our supply chains. Our costs were spiraling way out of control, and we couldn’t price check the market fast enough to keep up. We wanted to figure out how much was just a cash

Part of the problem is that they think Toyota is the one selling them their Camry. But it isn’t, it is a US-based corporate entity. That US-based entity both buys the imported goods from the manufacturer at wholesale price AND pays the tariff to the US government. The tariff makes each imported item cost the importer

Elon Musk is a straight up Nazi. If you’re still driving a Tesla, you’re saying you’re okay with Nazism. If you’re buying a Tesla, you’re saying you’re a straight up Nazi too.

Jacking up the prices on cars hardly anyone wants to buy anymore in the first place is a bold strategy, Cotton... let’s see if it pays off for them.

Well, hopefully his lil Nazi salute this week has permanently lost him a whole new swath of potential buyers - in Canada and everywhere else.

Hold on, won’t the government of Canada just cover the cost of the price increases for their consumers?  That’s how I was told this works!!!

Wait until people figure out you were being sarcastic. Would you like a flame suit?

All of these dog-eating Haitian immigrants living in Ohio are going to crash the auto industry.  I guess that’s why Ford stock is down 20% in the last six months.

I know people will probably jump all over me for saying this...but... Its just a Chevy Equinox with some fancy trim, some slightly re-arranged knobs and stuff and some nice seat covering material. I say this as someone who is now leasing a Chevy Equinox EV and the interior, exterior and everything else looks about 95%
