I have nothing but seething rage for the Areostar. My parents had one as a family hauler and it was the biggest POS. We were broke and couldn’t afford to get rid of it. My dad was a highly skilled mechanic at the time and absolute refused to work on it because of how tight and impossible to reach everything was. That

You clearly don’t know any farmers, ranchers, contractors, etc. etc. As a Manual Trans, Diesel Pickup with an eight foot bed and no options would sell well here...

I was “upgraded” to an orange charger rental with 20,000 miles on it this summer. Somehow it felt like a 20 year old car, like it was out of date before it was released 10+ years ago.

My breaking point was when the three years I dropped my daughter off at school where each day had stop and go traffic on a steep hill.

“Taxable Income” Taxation works different in France and also wages are considerably lower. On the other hand, medical care is free and good and costs of living, especially when it comes to housing is considerably less than the US.

yeah i used to commute quite a bit - i really came to hate the 6speed -the two track days a year i did were simply not worth it for the 300 other days a year stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. i moved into a luxo barge with a 10 speed auto, and i love it.

I cant imagine the shit storm in America if we tried to do something productive and progressive like this.
Durr how come they wont pay for my pickup truck?- duurrr fucking socialism..., more handouts for the poor....

I like fun colors on cars. But this car does not wear that color well.

Oh, fuck no.

Agreed, plus Toyota frame rust recall.  I know this one is in Georgia and likely not completely rotted, but that just means it will likely last long enough not to be covered once it does rot out.

First, the fact that either one of these is pushing a $9,000 tab is depressing.

Don’t forget the 48 HP.

I had one (a 2008 base model with a stick and 77K miles when I bought it) for about 18 months and still kind of miss it. If you buy it as a hot hatch, you’re going to invariably be disappointed, even if you compare it to the most “adult” of the HHs in the GTI. On its own as a design curiosity and a small car

No, not even if its price was $470.

The tensioner is what VW screwed the pooch on with ours.

Just look at all those beautiful plastic guides. They’re wear-proof!

That’s not an engine, that’s a Rube Goldberg machine

Electric seats without memory (and my car has one) are pointless. But electric seats with memory are a blessing when you have more than one driver in the family (or a carwash attendant that moves your seat).

The infamous timing set from the Audi 4.2 V8....why?
