Oh come on.
Oh come on.
Meanwhile dealer networks like Sonic Automotive reported record 2.2b profit last year.
Of course, if they were smart, they’d still have piles of money from all the gouging they’ve done over the past few years.
Are these the same dealers marking up limited edition models tens of thousands of dollars for pure Profit gains?
Yeah, I read this headline, and said to myself, “fuck them.” Then I read the article, and said “fuck them with a rusty spoon.” Any empathy I had disappeared when they decided to take advantage of a global pandemic to absolutely screw every customer they could (thus earning them record profits and contributing to…
The dealerships, who took advantage, massively, of the conditions induced by the pandemic to absolutely ream customers can cry all the way down the river with the tiniest of violins.
Seriously, any sympathy I may have felt was destroyed by the fact that, while they were whining about supply, they were also making…
Does anybody actually use this credit? The Venn diagram of people who have adjusted gross incomes under $300k for married filing jointly and people who can afford to buy a new EV seems like two entirely separate circles.
I drive a 4 cylinder 2004 (next generation) 5 speed. Great car, runs like new, even with 230k miles.
would be nice to remove the dealers in general.
It’s hard to feel bad for anything negative that happens to a car dealership.
It’s a nice car, but it’s not $7k nice. Maybe make it $3k - $5k
You're really gonna want that Tru-Coat!
Dealers could do what the rest of us do and... adjust our planning to fall in line with our new circumstances. Or, you know, maintain a “rainy day” fund.
Most car dealerships are not Mom and Pop operations any more. They are basically all owned by multimillionaires at this point. I live in Charlotte and am basically forced to deal with buying a car from Rick Hendrick if I want a certain brand. He is a billionaire. Do you think if he has to float 200k it is an issue for…
Exactly. I'm struggling to feel any sympathy for car dealerships. The car I'm in the process of buying right now is direct sale from the manufacturer (an EV)
How long before we hear of dealers fleecing the system and saying they sold double or triple of what they actually did.
If only the dealers had not destroyed any potential sympathy by ripping off customers and behaving terribly for decades......then maybe I would care.
I don’t have a violin small enough to play for them.
Fuck these complaining dealers.
First off, 7 days is insane. Holdback from the manufactures is paid out either annually or every 6 months. Yes the amount of holdback on each unit isn’t as much as the tax credit, but it’s not like this kind of delay is something new.
Secondly, dealers are using outside finance companies…
I’m not going to worry about the dealers. I’m sure somehow they will turn this credit to their advantage to fleece customers
