if you believe Elon Musk is going to get humanity to Mars one day

Let me know when they have a proper instrument cluster placed in the drivers direct field of view.

pretty sure the US will wait for china to run out first and then commandeer this property for mining.

Lol, cost isn’t what is holding me back. My issue with EV’s is also my issue with most new ICE’s. Too much focus on ADAS-first designs, giant infotainment systems, and always-on connectivity. I don’t want any of those things. I want something with as few features as possible, lightweight and fun. It’s almost

Maybe. Weird thing about production - efficiencies don’t matter when you can’t sell shit because your customers can’t buy anything.

No, we all should move to a 32 hour work week for the same pay. Workers fought 100 years or so ago for a 40 hour work week. Now the rich are rich enough. It’s LOOOOONNNGGGGG past time for a 32 hour work week.

Good studies from the US and UK that 32 hr work weeks yields fantastic results

I’m reminded of Car and Driver’s 10 Best list in maybe the late 80s or early 90s. They imposed a price cutoff (maybe $40k in then-year dollars, $92k now, based on inflation rate and neglecting the complex issue of how other changes such as required tech content might affect the value proposition of cars). Their

Beyond the very base bottom-feeder cars, generally the more you pay, the worse the value.

Well, there are many cars at $100K that are nowhere near perfect.  So there’s that.

Im not even gonna try formating, imma just gonna let kinda screw up the actual link itself. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robber_baron_(feudalism)

I want to know what kind of funny math they’re using that says trains derailing all the time is cheaper than just maintaining the damn tracks.

If the inspectors failed to report a problem because they were told not to and an accident resulted in deaths, the supers would have blamed the inspectors.

I’ll quote David Miller, chairman of the board of trustees of Southern Methodist University, “It’s a couple hundred million dollars. I’m not losing sleep over it.” While he has nothing to do with BNSF, it tells you how the corporate world looks at things. In the case of BNSF, fines/settlements/judgments are expenses

Also: Tort reform.

And the Oil and Gas Industry, Big Pharma, etc.  They all wield outsized control over government regulation of themselves.

HAHAHAHA. Until the payout is measured in billions, this is barely a rounding error in their $26 billion revenue/$6 billion net.

Honestly, I hope the “when” for Apple making a car is never.

A few points:

I still think it is a relatively ugly vehicle overall. And not to be a nag, but these pictures don’t do much to help the looks. There isn’t one picture of the full front of the car or even a 3/4 or 7/8 front full image.
