That’s because the cars Hyundai built 15 years ago aren’t at the same quality level they are now. Furthermore, they were so cheap back then that the people who bought them brand new didn’t spend a great deal of money on maintenance and upkeep, because who’s really going to wash and reuse a paper plate?

None of us are under any obligation to let people in in front of us just because they are signaling. It might be the nice thing to do to let them in, but they do not have right of way because of a flashing light on the side of their car.

No, the Toyota assumed that because he had his turn signal on, he had the right to cut off the car in the left lane.
I had someone do that to me this morning then slowed down another 10 MPH.

This. Zipper merging only counts when two lanes become one. Otherwise the person already in the lane has right of way.

This is a prime example of why traffic becomes stop and go. This person deserves a ticket.

It’s mind boggling. The people who are defending him are out on the road, thinking that they’re justified in driving like this.

First of all zipper merging only really applies when a lane is dropping, because the concept of alternating only really works when everyone has to do it.

Like it or not, in almost every state (if not every state), the one changing lanes, no matter the reason, basically never has the right of way. Just like unprotected left turns, when you’re leaving or entering a lane, you’re everyone’s bitch.

Common problem...People think the blinker is their magical ticket to change lanes...

So an entire lane of traffic comes to a stop behind the guy trying to make a lane change because some assholes think they own the road? No.

You signal and wait - if the car in the next lane doesn’t let you in because they have a tiny winky you don’t just force your way in.
