There was some Japanese compact car back in the 80s(?) where the headlights were exposed, but tilted back. Flip on the headlights and they’d click into the upright position. I’m sure that feature lessened air drag by 0.000000001%. But then the weight of the headlight motors must’ve canceled the air drag “drop”.

I thought that was the 80s

Love the Notchback, but this one?!? It’s like a beautiful woman wearing Crocs.

No, the S3 was just a Golf R with a dual clutch.

I’m enjoying my new GTI with a manual and plaid seats so much that it makes me wish I had the money sitting around to buy a spare. I hope they don’t screw up the Mk8 too much.

So. Much. Green. And so much greenhouse, too. And, with FWD.*

The i30 Fastback definitely should be sold here.

Can you think of a convincing argument why this car should be sold in the US and not this one?  I think he later would sell better.

It’s fall of 2022, and you’re taking a drive through Asheville. The mountain back roads are perfect to carve in the FR-S you just managed to pick up for a sweet deal.

i think its safe to assume that its both.

And, with BMW eliminating dispsticks in favor of electronic level sensors in the late 2000s, the Germans have been able to turn around and play the same trick on many unsuspecting owners!

incredibly...

fun...

I don’t follow.

Edit: Okay, I get the joke now.

This is finally a crossover I can get behind. Audi’s styling translates well to being a little taller, with a sloped back - a bit like the A7/S7. While BMW and Mercedes never quite got that sloped roof right, Audi did.

Great article, great reveal. I like it. I stayed up too late. This old boomer is going to bed.

Hey now, I bought one in May and it’s a stick. I tried, dammit.

Killed by the lack of a diesel.

I keep getting Corvair confused with Convair and I invariably end up very disappointed.

While the Corvai may’ve been the pinnacle of late 50's design, the re-design in the mid 60's is a masterpiece of automotive design (especially the coupe).

I'd watch a production of Jesus Christ, Superstar if it ended with the entire cast being slaughtered.
