Not legal in the US yet anyway.

The Mk7 Golf R started around $38k USD in our market. I would be shocked to see the new model start very far above $40k, so translate into Canadian dollars accordingly.

Way to prove his point. Now shut up.

There are a few others in the US & Canada. This is the only one for sale currently.

I had a Sentra too, a ‘93, and it was a mechanical disaster. Whenever people tell me about Japanese reliability the litany of water-pumps, alternators, and clutches from that car flashes through my head.

Base price $35k, and the real out-the-door advantage over the S3 is bigger, because of Audi brand rep.

Maybe they’re floundering, maybe they aren’t, but if they are they floundered there way to being the world’s largest automaker. So...

Damn it, VW. Diesels, SportWagen, AllTrack, now this?

Does it baby? And how is the manual?

Buick leads the way here (for once). Drop the sedan - sales are plunging anyway - and replace it with the fastback.

Down with that CVT, and especially down with that being the only transmission. Bad show, Subaru.

I own a GTI. It’s given me years of trouble-free fun.

blah blah blah

Go drive one - especially a manual - on a decent road.

Petition to be able to give a post more than one star.

Have fun waiting!

You ignored the main part of what I said, which iss that the numbers reported by CR, JD Power etc for VW have improved.

The numbers (and my anecdotal experience) are way up for the Mk7. Jump back in the pool!

I would trade in my 2016 GTI in 2 seconds for this. take my money.

GTI Variant (since we don’t get the GTD)? Yes, 10000x yes
