GM specified lower pressure on the front tires. When this wasn’t followed the car was unstable, but the fatal cost savings was in the rear suspension.

That’s every company ever. GM saved $15 per gen 1 Corvair on the suspension, and ruined the car and their reputation.

I can think of a lot of reasons. Can we establish a baseline we can compare between engines? Can we create a starting point for changes to throttle maps and valve timing to make the car both legal and drive-able?
