Gruden decided to make his bed with Sanchez as his No. 1 guy, and an off-the-street guy as his No. 2, for reasons that will never be explicitly articulated.

We are all Titans fans this morning.

I know it’s just an intern who typed it, but I like to imagine it’s the entire organization owning Darren Rovell. And that brings me so much joy.

It wasn’t even really a bar fight, it was a non-fight. Some people got shoved. In watching the video again, it’s clear the the girl shoves Hunt’s friend at the same time hung comes barreling out of the room, knocking into the same friend who falls into the girl. Also, she never touched the wall when she falls, and her

I am trying to be objective.

I consider myself a liberal, a progressive, an ally . . . all the things that privileged white guys tell themselves to justify the comparatively easy road that has been laid out for us from the get-go. But as I was reading this my first thought was, “why does it matter? He assaulted this woman; why get pedantic about

“The video, once again, is brutal”

But the term is “domestic violence”, not “domestic” “violence”. Words, like letters, often take different meanings when combined in specific ways.

For the record I don’t think any of these teams would do anything differently with Hunt/Hill/Belcher situations, which is the most fucked up part about this.

The league is just lucky there’s no video of Hill doing something truly terrifying, like kneeling.

I hate that you have to preface this with “I’m not defending him but...”. What he did was wrong and he deserves some punishment for it, but people seem to get genuinely upset when people place things in context instead of immediately dismiss him as a monster. The bottom line is this kid was drunk, upset and he knocked

Not sure what level of sarcasm you’re operating under or if you really think this article is being “needlessly pedantic” but I suggest actually read the article. Take notes this time instead of just coming up with a lame quip.

I can’t believe that there are this many stupid people to compare it to domestic violence when there’s the legitimately comparable Joe Mixon incident to talk about (where similarly, the victim was accused of using racial slurs prior to being assaulted).

Thank you for this, Diana.  I am a former domestic violence prevention educator and the point you’re making here has really stuck in my craw for since the reporting started.  Thanks for using your platform to educate readers.

Honestly, I can’t help but feel like this entire story is racialized as hell.

Calling what happened in this video “brutal” is a bit of a stretch if you ask me. It doesn’t look like she suffered any serious injury.

Thank you for writing this!

To be clear: Yes, Hunt committed assault, not domestic abuse. But, the Jovan Belcher murder/suicide absolutely informed the actions of the Chiefs. Both can be true.

It feels like that was probably the end of Alex Smith’s career, which is really sad. I realize that he doesn’t get that much respect here, but the dude has done a lot and I was hoping that he would be able to at least quit on his own terms after this season or the next.

I’m a Bears fan and you just ran back to back stories on terrible coaches in Detroit and Green Bay. I can’t remember when I felt this much schadenfreude.

I dunno how much time McCarthy has left, but no way he’s gonna be able to stop the clock.
