YES!!! I made it a point to see all the movies nominated for best picture Oscars and I did not like Shape of Water. I thought I was just not deep enough to understand it. Glad I’m not the only one. Also, same for Phantom Thread.

I didn’t see the movie, but I heard the way it was filmed was heavily influenced by the Russian film “Stalker.” It’s entirely too long, but it’s a great plot and truly beautifully shot.

Moretz is a talented actress with intelligence and much to offer in entertainment and evidently well grounded social skills. 

And also, for fuck’s sake people stop blaming all the shit you don’t like on the actors. They’re just doing their work. You may not like a performance, that’s fine. But realize that the actors do very little by way of creating characters. That’s on the screenwriters and the director. Is Ahmed Best responsible for Jar…

What I don’t get is the polarization on this movie. It was neither as great as all its defenders claim, nor as horrible as the neckbeards claim. It was pretty good in large chunks while it had some extremely questionable plot/writing decisions in other areas. Everything with Luke/Rey/Kylo worked, and almost everything…

That’s the same logic Trump supporters use when they say that Trump’s mistakes don’t matter because Obama made mistakes too.
