I see your point. I guess it shows that even “smart” people have been fooled to believe that good policing needs to involve some crossing the line and the general public being protected should pay for those incidents rather than the offending officer.

To me that is the worst part. How could good decent cops knowingly patrol the streets with the cops they know are overly aggressive dicks who have been proven to be a danger to the general public. 5% of cops are responsible for most of these incidents and probably more importantly the general hatred/distrust of police…

The thing is they wouldn’t. The bulk of cops are good decent people, but when stand together to protect the bad cops because of generations of thin blue line BS they are taught since day 1, they are then part and parcel of the problem.
