The idea that anybody is made safer by the presence of a nuclear arsenal is pretty much the definition of insanity. The fact that I can blow you up if you blow me up in no way makes ANYBODY safer.

It doesn’t improve relations with the referees that the head of the players’ union is maybe the biggest whiner in the game. The speed of the game and the mobility of the players make it far more difficult than baseball or football to officiate. Showing up the referees like this is not likely to improve things,…

And I thought no sports news today could be sweeter than seeing  both Chris Paul AND James Harden cry on the podium about fouling out because of refs with a personal vendetta... the sports gods are smiling on me today.

I only tuned in to this game for the drama of watching LeBron begin his efforts to carry an undermanned Lakers team to a (highly unlikely) playoff spot, but the Rockets’ crying was an unexpected bonus. 

I would say Betsy DeVos might be a candidate for her efforts to undermine the country’s education system and turn it over to fundamentalist nutjobs, but it’s hard to be a bottom-feeder when you start off standing on top of a pile of billions of dollars.
