Oh, she banned me, too. And now she’s leaving and it’s sad. I mean that’s what Kara was always like. Everyone’s best bet was always to ask another writer to just put them back.

Well Kara, goodbye and I wish you well. You are a talented writer, and the new job seems like a perfect fit for you.

Yeah, but you need to look at things in the aggregate. When people say #Oscarssowhite, they are not pointing their fingers at say Meryl Streep, and saying, “You! You are white! You in particular don’t deserve that role or that nomination! Give it back now!”

Thank you! It’s not interracial relationships, it’s that the show perpetuates the narrative that White women are top draw. Real life or not, let’s not lie to ourselves and act like POC haven’t been fed this narrative our entire lives.

Ahem.. as a white woman yes, this person should be able to look beyond stats and recognize a quiet racism against asian people. I do it. It’s not hard. It’s subtle and it’s there, and asian people in america deserve better. You don’t have to be asian to listen to people like yourself and accept what they say as valid

This is a really bad take on a great article.

Since you’re not asian, you can’t be expected to understand what it’s like to be within a stone’s throw of acceptance but always kept at arm’s length fulfilling the role of yes men. Don’t try to understand it, you can’t, you’re not asian and don’t have the lived experience.

I agree but isn’t this particular movie a true story? I don’t think it belongs quite in the same category because it was Kumail’s real life experience with his current partner and not a fictional creation. Thoughts?

Oh, but since she’s “garbage” and this is all happening on social media it’s okay to dismiss the victim, dontcha know?

Yes, but at least they had a sense of decorum. While you were allowed certain youthful indiscretions, you were also expected to eventually settle down and they had a high regard for public service. Some of them (quite notably) may have fallen short of the standard, but at least there were standards.

Because America is an empty husk of what it used to be and the Kardashians, as has been explained to me, are our new Kennedy’s. A piece of my soul dies every day...

They are ashamed the war has become a public spectacle and hurting the family name. Even worse than damaging the brand, family members worry Rob and Chyna are hurting 7-month-old Dream...the Kardashians think it’s damaging for Dream to live in homes where the parents are at war.

They are ashamed the war has become a public spectacle and hurting the family name.

Even writing this story is too much.

Because they are messy attention whores that thrive on lazy infamy and short attention spans.

Maximum respect to the coiner of the term “ankh-right.”

Finally! Someone took the time to explain this man to me. I saw a video (I think) of him floating around a few months ago and had no idea who the fuck he was. But I click on his FB page and the not so subtle whiff of the “ankh-right” (I simply lost it when I read this) and clicked out of my browser.

There were four seminal black films in the 90s that spoke to me: 1. Mo’ Better Blues, which showed black sexuality in a way that wasn’t fetishistic; 2. Boomerang which showed black success; 3. Bad Boys which showed brothers as supercool action stars; and 4. Love Jones which had black artistic types in a wonderfully

Said by someone who ain’t never had their toes sucked gud.....

I was 17 and ready to take on the world when this movie came out. I saw it like four times in the theater because I loved the black wealth on display and I loved that the film didn’t need to comment on it. It just presented successful black people. I was all like “This must be what Atlanta’s like!”
