Stay busy. However, I’m failing at that part right now as I’m supposed to go out tonight and I really, really don’t want to. But, yes, taking on extra work, hobbies, hanging out with friends, making new friends, learning a new language and all that jazz.

I wish you a lot of luck and God speed in this situation. It’s tough but you made the right call.

Depends on where you work. Some workplaces don’t tolerate shit like that. Others encourage it. I worked at a place where one supervisor openly treated a girl on our team crappy to the point that HR ended up transferring said girl to another department. They did not, however, fire dude. Even after he missed important

This is a very good point. There are many things about this case that make absolutely no sense. However, if she did commit suicide, it’s STILL on the hands of the police department for their abysmal treatment of Bland during the arrest and negligence that could allow her the time and means to do this.

When I mentioned a few days back that I don’t have much empathy for people, this is the type of shit I was referring to. Never in the history of life would I feel empathy for someone who told me they were taking a picture with a wild animal and that’s why they lost their eye, chuck of hair, fingers, arm, etc. It’s one

James Franco is the William Shatner of our day. Like, you know you should hate him. But, you don’t because he knows he’s a douche and is in on the joke. It’s oddly...endearing (but you hate yourself for it).

In my experience, they are the best ;) Lol

Agreed. In no way am I suggesting that her death, via suicide or homicide, is justified or warranted. This is a tragedy all around. I do think it’s high time the black community addressed this very real and dangerous issue of mental illness in our community.

Let’s talk about that for a moment. It’s an interesting point. The officer’s fuckboy misconduct notwithstanding, the family is campaigning that their daughter could not have committed suicide. But, Bland had an ongoing history of depression. It is plausible that she could be suicidal.

    Sigh...sure.

It’s not like we didn’t know the cop was lying but to read this (I cannot bring myself to watch the video), it’s still a shock. Like...wow!

I’d do him based on this pic alone. Gawd!

I was literally thinking, “how else is he supposed to write about his feelings on this if not to make it about himself.”

If that’s what he needs to face an open marriage, so be it. I don’t agree or disagree with how he got to the conclusion that feminism is the reason for his open marriage. What I will say is that everyone’s journey to becoming enlightened starts off from a place of lack. In the beginning of the piece when Moore wrote:

I was about to be oddly sad if she were a fake doctor. Lol

Oh...I was really like, “I thought she was really a doctor though.”

    Are you serious? Lol.

I agree. It is complicated. I just think that after a certain age or past a certain point of experience in life, if a person is still cheating, it’s because of some character flaw on their end. Doesn’t mean that person will always cheat. But, to me, it does mean that they will usually be too fundamentally flawed to

Agreed. It’s like when someone’s grandmother or grandfather is “outed” as a racist or a bigot. I am more shocked when old people AREN’T racist because of era they grew up in.

Yeah. No. I get what you’re saying but overall, the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. It’s not a moral judgement to say that how someone acts in one situation may very well translate into how they act with you in the same situation. Maybe he cheated for a myriad of reasons (likely) but the fact is he
