Hey, that was really nice. Not what I expected from a guy named “Mitch Murder.”
The Conquest isn’t even nearly the most obscure, but I had to vote for it since I love those be-flared things so much. That Talon is so clean too, unnngh. I’ll take the Firebird, too, just... minus those wheels. Looks like a hot wheels with those.
You’ve just convinced me to buy a GT-R...
Great stuff my man! This is why I read this site. I mean I know you gotta pump out news articles to survive, and yeah, I click on the newest story about Elon Musk being caught licking bugs off of the ceiling in his underpants, but this is the stuff I really enjoy reading. Historical education with a dash of opinion.…
And I think a couple Gen 4s were in the Gamecube games, Bonsly in XD being the one I remember.
Nice job getting that Walken Cadence (tm) down in text!
Maintained by Mazda’s internal techs, but the radio doesn’t work?
Fantastic article! This is exactly what I like to read—accounts of the people and places and times that assemble what we call car culture. Cool to get the vibe of a scene I was never a part of.
Yeah you’re right, I’ll quit my job and subsist on foot fungus and dreams while I attempt to assemble a new Thunderbird out of the three pickups in my yard...
“80 kbps quality? Sounds like a lotta kay bee pee esses to me.”
I like how this is phrased as if the previous Camaro was any better. Sure, mock the 90 hp four. But the V8 last year with, what, 135 was THAT much better? I don’t think this deserves to be on any “worst” lists since it’s just a budget trim/engine on a competent car. It’s only thanks to the march of time that our…
The automation will appear anyway and “the hand that feeds you” hasn’t fed properly for 20 years. Try again.
They didn’t want their elderly clientele to die before buying a new Buick, I... guess?
Support the company who gives me a paycheck? No, buddy, I support them by working and they don’t GIVE me a paycheck, I earn it. I’m not obligated to buy anything they make, I’m obligated to do my hours as well and as efficiently as I can. And I do. I shouldn’t be brand-loyalty-guilted into also helping them make money…
I think it’s telling of both Torch’s creativity and this design’s what-the-fuckery that I thought this was another “fake car with almost believable headline” post. Why does it have a stepside!? It looks like a Craigslist horror show, half AMC Javelin and half Uncle Bob’s Rusty Pickup Corpse.
Sergeant Cross strikes again?
Ah, the guy who’s username is his job description being a party-pooper. Surprising!
I honestly prefer the rise-up or “tablet stuck on” screens to the ones buried in a big head unit. Looks cleaner, easier to see, and in my opinion will age better. Think of cars from like, the mid naughts. They had those tiny little screens buried in a huge plastic frame, it just looks comical now.
