I thought it was … interesting that Jackson chose to cut out the line where Eowyn calls out Aragorn (and her world’s) sexism:All your words are but to say: you are a woman, and your part is in the house. But when the men have died in battle and honour, you have leave to be burned in the house, for the men will need

And she has a college-age kid! No worries about paying for school? What affect divorce will have on the family finances? Who will own the house while she’s in CA?  It’s baffling.

Remember the terrifying scene in the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy falls into the pig-pen? Pigs are no joke.

Heroes still stings when I think about it. Twin Peaks midway season 2 also I’d say.

I think S2’s already been reassessed. The consensus seems to be “deeply mediocre but not as bad as everyone felt at the time”. At least that’s what everyone seems to say when it comes up.

Detail? Ok. I never said that “not finding nature beautiful” was banal.

But you see, I never cited to some silly “innocent until proven guilty” basis for my personal opinions. So, along with having laughably banal opinions about “nature,” you don’t really understand what a “hypocrite” is.

I mean, you’re accusing her of perjury, which is also a crime. But I guess “innocent until proven guilty” doesn’t apply there?  Rather convenient…

Internet poster believes that saying, “nature is absolutely brutal,” is some kind of trenchant commentary on the human-as-animal condition, rather than an embarrassing adolescent banality.

The leaned more into the Sherlock Holmes style. With Alfred as a more competent Watson. It was fun.

Studies also show that the best way to help the poor is to give them money. Simple as that. So nope, diverting enormous money to the police is not the most efficient way to assist poor communities.

“Less crime”.

Pete doing one thing after weeks of constant abusive behavior counts as keeping his head down.

Seems like it’s intended to distinguish from Captain Marvel’s and Monica Rambeau’s powers. Since they are supposed to eventually all be in a movie/show together.

Isn’t it pretty clear in Endgame that she was active during the Blip years? She’s one of the people BW is talking to about crisis all over.

No, it’s really not.

I would think that struggling with parental expectations, being trapped on the cusp between childhood and adulthood, and not feeling like yourself as you age and change, is something most people should be able to relate to.

Yeah, that’s why I likened it to Tolkien writing and publishing like half the story and then wandering off to ramble about random Numenorians.

Yeah, and Tolkien completed Lord of the Rings…

This is kind of like Tolkien writing the Fellowship of the Ring and the Two Towers and then wandering off to write about various tedious Numenorian kings.
