This prequel is asking me to care about who sits on the Iron Throne. I already tried that once when the stakes were way higher. So no thanks.

Obviously, she’s a great choice for Irulan. But I’m sad we probably won’t get Count and Lady Fenring using their secret language to talk about how vulgar and tacky the Harkonnens are. She would have been a fun Lady Fenring too.

What is this movie about?” isn’t that complex a question.

It’s about a girl struggling with transforming to a monster, and the ritual to cure her is scheduled at the same time as her favorite band’s concert. All of which stands in as a puberty allegory. Seems pretty obvious.

I’d say Beanie Babies were actually better. The initial purchase was very cheap (unlike crypto), there were few middle men skimming fees just to make sales/exchanges, and you actually ended up with a cute, durable toy when you were done.

I think you’re underestimating the number of extremely powerful people trying to make crypto happen. It would actually be really nice if this was just a Beanie Baby fad/scam. But, unfortunately, it isn’t.

I kind of like the image of them standing like a parrot on the giant’s shoulder.

ASP tends to become convinced that certain characters are way more interesting than anyone else thinks. See also Christopher on Gilmore Girls. That and her worship of the wealthy (preferably old money) is as enduring as her snappy dialogue.

Everyone I know over 55 loves this show.

Top internships do not grow on trees.  A year after graduating?  How will she explain the gap?

Yeah, I don’t think there was anything wrong with the idea or bones of Miranda’s story. I just think the execution was almost comprehensively terrible. Like I can’t think of a single aspect of it that made sense or was done well.

Sure, but again, it’s the framing that’s the problem for me. The show doesn’t present her choice as Miranda making an impulsive decision out of fear or even buyer’s remorse. It’s right there in the headline. We’re supposed to believe Miranda is making bold, self-actualizing choices. And that just seems silly to me.

I think the issue isn’t that Miranda treated Steve poorly. It’s that the show does not frame her treatment as bad. It focused on mocking Steve and stripping his character of dignity to make Miranda’s choices look better. It wasn’t willing to present her choices as complicated. Also, her role as a parent was so

NFTs exist because they need a non-illegal purpose for someone to use crypto. They served to draw fresh real money into the market from rubes. Crypto never became a real currency and wealth means nothing without a way to turn into actual money. Hence NFTs. Grifts layered on grifts.

Someone with a lot of money who wanted to do a good deed could “mint” a lot of Disney product and give them a real opponent.

OpenSea also requires an artist to share their contact and personal information with the art thief. Which naturally many artists are unwilling to do.

My favorite is “John Lackland”.

More like inspired by the dark ages?  Like, “John Lackland” or “Edward Longshanks”.

Helm Hammerhand is a nickname. Kind of like “Charles the Fat” or “Richard Lionheart” and other such nicknames from the dark/Middle Ages.

The name is from the books.
