Weird that this sounds so boring. Hallowe’en Party is one of the more lurid (and also fun) Poirots. It sounds like they changed practically every aspect of the story though, so who knows?

This isn’t canceling a “greenlit” series though. It’s canceling a completed series that they’ve already spent all the money. The difference between canceling dinner, and cooking dinner and then throwing the cooked food out.

It’s weird though, because it seems so consistent with the Disney brand. Why not just put it on streaming? Are they trying to avoid residuals that hard?

I liked the episodic release. It reminded me of Babylon 5 in good ways.

This seems like a PR ouroboros. They created an academy for gamers to generate PR, thus manufacturing this “true story,” they can turn into a movie for more PR. 

I wonder if this will make them fast track the Avatar sequels? It seems to be one of their few healthy properties.

Why would you believe that people are going to show up for the DC movies? They haven’t recently.

Yeah but why would that be the case? Any AI we create will be infected with the prejudices and assumptions of its creators. Further, even the concept of “justice” is not an objective idea. It’s shot through with emotion and subjective feeling. 

The movie is also generally bright-looking and energetic. I think there’s a lot of a kid to enjoy, even if they don’t get the full message.

I’m not sure why an AI ruler would be anymore inclined to dispense “justice” than a human one?

The obvious point seems to be that no one should care about whether they liked it or not.
