I watched about 30 minutes of Black Adam and then turned it off. It just wasn’t good. Dwayne has never been a particularly good actor and none of the premise made a good impression. It was just boring.
I loved She-Hulk but the courtroom scenes were just bad. It’s like they just couldn’t be bothered to, idk, pay a lawyer to maybe advise them on how that stuff works? I rolled my eyes at each one. It wasn’t that the writers aren’t good at those, they were just lazy about it.
I agree. It’s disgusting.
I hated at first but have come to respect it over the years. It just wasn’t what people wanted, and that’s not a crime.
Damn, my man Cal is looking hot in that beard. Woof, daddy twunk.
Wonder Woman was great. Wonder Woman 1984 was… not I fell asleep halfway through and never finished it. Gal Gadot is such a great actress and I hate to see her lose her role, but she got into a bad spot.
Will Coulter looks badass as Adam Warlock! I’ve been a fan since he showed up as Eustace in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader (RIP, Narnia franchise) and he’s been great in everything I’ve seen him in since.
Linda, I love your coverage of this series almost as much as the series itself. Keep it coming!
The Magicians was great because it ruthlessly deconstructed Narnia while telling its own story with wonderful characters. Their allegory of C.S. Lewis turned out to be a pedophile, the big bad turned out to be Edmund, and Lucy got ripped apart. Then Peter becomes the big bad of the last season because he is trying to…
I knew it was Armand! When he floated up I was just grinning like a fool. Molloy going after Louis was just aggressively beautiful.
I think Rashid is definitely Armand. And the attempt to kill Lestat is gonna be so convoluted, bloody, and horrible that we’re all gonna have to watch it like 5 times to make sense of it. I also think Antoinette will play a role.
You’re kind of a dick dude. Scrolling through your comments all you do is insult people. io9 is a place for dialogue, not derogatory comments.
I thought some died permanently. The show seemed to indicate that being shot in a certain part of the head would destroy their sphere and that’s what I thought happened to a lot of them.
I’m conflicted. While the s4 finale makes for a decent series ending, I am curious where they would actually go next. MIB is dead, Halores is dead, Delores is in host heaven, Caleb is dead, Bernard is dead, Maeve is dead... Like, what in the hell are they gonna do next? We’re already in the way distant future,…
By far my favorite chunk of Trek ever. It was bold to up end everything and put the station back under Cardassian/Dominion control. My particular favorite is Kira’s arc in “Behind the Lines” when she comes to see herself as a collaborator. That protest where the monk hangs herself hit like a true gut punch and Nana…
I get your point about content warnings, but this fight came as zero surprise to anyone who’s been watching the toxic buildup. The suicide in ep 1 was kind out of nowhere.
Definitely, 2 different things.
All I need to know is that he’s clearly a dom bottom.
I’m checking this out tonight and would really love some weekly reviews, Linda! I never thought I’d miss this show until I did a rewatch and realized how fun this world was.
