Exact same reasons here. It sucks.

My tax rate went down just a tiny fraction (like .1%) but it looks like what really screwed me over was the loss of the personal exemption, which was making a significant difference for me before.

Okay but some of those were REALLY close and I had a 50/50 chance of getting them right either way...

Oh man when I worked at a movie theater I freakin’ loved kids like the one you were. It seriously made my day every time an adult would tell me their child was young enough to get in for free and said child would indignantly reply, “I am not two! I’m three and a half!”

Yeah, I did check my withholding...at the beginning of the year. I didn’t realize it changed later.

Same boat. :/

I’ve had a refund every year since I first started filling taxes at age 16 - and this year I OWED a significant chunk of money. I file single, no investment income, the most complicated thing I have to itemize is a mortgage, and my deduction was even higher than the standard. And yet, after getting a good-sized refund

Okay, but I claim no responsibility for the condom wrapper.

I suspect that in HtKaF’s case it’s more likely that she just didn’t like Charlotte. I know every piece of media says that all women are secretly in love with their male friends, but, well, if there’s a simpler explanation....

Yes, and the article did mention Mennonites - I was just correcting the misconception that “Mormons” wear stuff like this.

Not wearing sleeveless shirts or short shorts is a far cry from wearing tube dresses that cover your wrists and ankles....

I don’t even look at the sizes on patterns anymore, just the measurements.

Sizing on patterns is always much higher than on store-bought clothing, even today.

“modest” dressing styles of some fundamentalist Christian women, like Mennonites, Mormons, or the Amish.

The problem with “physical education” was that there was never any education.

It should definitely ring somewhere and shouldn’t be able to be disconnected, but sending it directly to 911 (especially in larger cities with a lot of call traffic) isn’t really feasible. I mean, the only elevators that rang straight to us were in the city buildings, and we still got a ton of false alarms on them -

The real issue is that with shallow cuts you can usually clean any bacterial contamination out of the wound with ordinary measures. With a bite, everything gets driven down to where you can’t really clean it and it’s up to your immune system, and mouths are filthy.

Luckily for me my cat actually likes the taste of the liquid antibiotic they gave me last time and would lick it off my fingers if I dribbled it on there. SO much easier than trying to shove pills down her throat.

I’ve found that if I use only half of the pocket my cat will just eat it instead of daintily nibbling off the treat part - which is good, because she has a pill she has to take daily and she doesn’t take the more forcible pilling well.

If you’re talking the Greenies ones, I find half of one is more than enough (and my cat isn’t that tiny). There are also small jars of basically the same thing, so you can just portion out however much you need.
