Pill pockets seem great until you have a cat that has figured out how to eat the treat part and leave the pill behind. Sigh.

When I adopted my cat years ago I attempted to give her a bath, which....went poorly. Being new to cat ownership, I ignored the warning signs until she panicked enough to bite me (on the thumb) so she could escape. Again, new to cat ownership, I just washed the bite and stuck a band-aid on it, thinking nothing of it.
Sometimes the “emergency” button in the elevator rings directly to 911.
I don’t think anything about it, it isn’t my story.
So she’s proud of herself for deceiving her husband because she did it in a way that makes him responsible for tasks that normally fall to a woman? And that’s supposed to make it somehow better that she’s deliberately lying to him?
....are you trying to say that’s a good thing? Because my comment was that it’s the opposite of that.
This reminds me of a story I read somewhere (reddit, I think?) about a woman whose husband pretended to be completely incompetent at making deviled eggs every time she tried to teach him, because he “liked hers better” and didn’t want to admit he actually knew how to make them. Like, okay, you can like hers better,…
1. Prehaps! I’m’ve was to make football often times. Play? Know. Best football results twice again.
I suspect it would take a lot more than this to get Ontario to back out of the contract, at this point. They've been very public with their support for ALA - the mayor was there this weekend and posted photos and videos to his Facebook, for example.
Why would Ontario back out? The con already has a contract, they're bringing a ton of people/business into the city, and this didn't happen on convention grounds nor was it associated with the convention itself. Stalkers commit crimes in every city in the world.
It was also in Burbank at least one year, but most of its existence was spent at the LAX Marriott. Alas, it’s still in Ontario for at least another year.
I just put it on hold at my library, thanks for the rec. :D
Lady in the Water reminded me of someone trying to tell you about a really cool dream they had. He clearly thought the story was awesome but I was just blinking at the screen like, uh, okay....
I really didn’t think Shyamalan could get worse than Lady in the Water, but boy did that movie change my mind.
That’s exactly why I haven’t watched it. I foolishly saw The Happening in theaters and I’m trying not to repeat my mistakes.
I realize it’s not a perfect comparison, but if we’re capable of letting the one disappear into history then I think we’re entirely capable of doing the same for the other - even if it’s for different reasons, just let stuff that’s no longer okay stay in the historical context.
In the original context in the ‘40s it was a perfectly acceptable song - but Song of the South used to be a perfectly acceptable movie and now it’s, um, not so much.
I had to go through a few before I found a good one, because some forms of estrogen give me issues, so it’s definitely not a magic bullet or anything, but it was so definitely worth trying. Pain shouldn’t be shrugged off as “normal”, especially not when it’s so severe that you’re doing the push test to make sure your…
In lay terms: A lot of people don’t wanna get pregnant.
I suspect that it means she was studying suicide because her brother killed himself? It’s really oddly worded.
