Terrific piece. Thank you! Very helpful to break this down into these components. I definitely struggle with creating that sense of Urgency that I need to push through really challenging tasks, or taming the sense that reorganizing my sock drawer is urgent, or as urgent as doing my work. Premeditation is also an issue

When will men learn that in general women don’t lie about sexual crimes. The vast majority of women don’t lie about: being raped, almost being raped, being stalked, hit, harassed, etc.

Uh, Oprah said “you’re safe here” not “do my show or else!” That’s what ESPN did.

Cause, worthy. Song, cringeworthy.

Actually I thought “name like a Beatles song” kinda nailed it.

Took the words out of my mouth. V. Surprised to see this here and not in NYTimes Magazine.

Ah I didn’t see the update. Change in surface area not that big a deal, but saying the brushed interior is hard to clean is deal breaker. The ones I have are super easy. What a shame.

Every time you post about All-Clad or other Tri-Ply deals I post back about how great the Tramontina Triply regularly available at Walmart is. Cooks Illustrated gives it high marks, which is why I bought it. I’ve had for years and it’s FANTASTIC!

Thanks much for this! My own roasted veggies are never as great as those in restaurants etc. Maybe this is why. Thanks!

I tried this with “rhymes with Mary” and when you click on “rhyme” (vs. definition) I was shuttled to a subscription page. :(

Initially, I cringed when I read the title and saw the cheesy art... Thinking “you can’t TEACH people to be funny.” But when I read it was from Cheri Steinkellner I clicked immediately to hear what she has to say as she’s a major pro. And while you can’t teach unfunny people how to be funny, you can help funny people

What collection manager?! It’s not even an app. I have 400+ books, organized in Calibre by genre and many were side-loaded. If I didn’t like the non-LED screen for reading late at night, I’d ditch this thing for an iPad in a heartbeat.

Uhg, never the upgrades I want-why can’t they have an easy, quick way to organize collections! I hacked my kindle to get access to Collections Manager, but accidentally got an OTA upgrade, and Collection management etc. is all messed up. Wish they upgraded regularly and added more functionality like cell phone OS.

You’d have to contact the individual companies. I have no idea.

What about opposite–something that sends the audio from a device, like my TV, to a pair of Bluetooth speakers?

Thanks so much for posting–I didn’t know this one. Most surprising of all is that Chris Rock directed it... You’d think he’d have noticed or known. I also wish he’d sit her down and talk about developing really personal edgey stand-up material that means something and makes people think–more on the level of her TV

Never tried any including the main one, but you’ve reinsured me.

I was skeptical until I read this charming background story on Food52–apparently it comes from a legit chef in Puglia by way a of two super fun women who worked for Martha and were having a great night out.

That image is effing fabulous!

Yes, there’s NO REASON to remake other than this weird new trend in TV to do awful versions of great musicals.
